July 24, 200818 yr When listed out, that squad looks a little thin - especailly seeing it includes 4 goalkeepers, a number of players who will be injured for most of the season and a couple on their way out of the club. I count 13 out-field players who are guaranteed (pending any new injuries) to be available for the opening day - looks like Megson's tactics of naming numerous keepers on the bench will have to return

Team and bench so far: Jussi Steinsson, Cahill, O'Brien, Gardner Nolan, Muamba Diouf, Elmander, Taylor Davies Subs: Al Habsi, Hunt, Samuel, McCann, Cohen, Vaz Te, Helgusson A strongstarting 11 and some decent players from the bench with Prem experience. I wouldn't worry. Everyone has been quiet so far in the market, its only now starting to pick up. If we add Riga and maybe another player plus one or two loans which we normally do each season then the squad will look ok. Remember there is no UEFA cup this season so there won't be many mid week games. That means the starting 11 won't really change that much apart from injury + suspension. Maybe Megson is waiting to see how the squad performs in the first 3 or 4 pre-season games then he will get a better idea of what is needed. Its still 3 weeks til the start of the Prem season and 5 weeks til the end of the window. Bolton fans are like this every year but the signings will come

It is rare anybody has a fully fit squad on a regular basis

I think one of the reasons he brought Steinsson in was for his versatility, Meggo said he is also a very good centre half, if we get an injury he will play there with either Hunt or obrien filling in at RB
