Squidgy Gets Lost In The Hills

I'm taking part in the "Three Peaks Challenge" on September 19th. It basically involves climbing the 3 highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales (Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis and Mount Snowdon) within 24 hours of wach other culminating in a night time ascent and descent of Snowdon. All of this is in aid of Bowel Cancer UK. Some of you may know that my dad died three years ago from cancer, so the cause is particularly close to my heart.

Given my previous I'm likely to kill myself in the process :pardon:

So, if you would all be kind enough to chip into my farewell fund :good:

I've literally just set the site up so be the first to part with your dosh! (you also get to screw the government for 28p for every pound of your hard earned you part with because of gift-aid legislation).

I haven't got the internet at home anymore, but I'll try and monitor the inevitable abuse on this thread the best I can.

Thanks in advance

Good Luck for tomorrow Squidge :good:

Good Luck for tomorrow Squidge :good:

As per usual I wasn't clear about the days!

I set off tomorrow first thing to drive up to Fort William.

Climb starts about 6am on saturday and finishes in Wales the same time Sunday. Forecast is 35mph winds on Ben Nevis. Someone got blown off Scafell last week in 75mph winds!

Been nice knowing you all :good: (apart from the tight c?nts who didn't sponsor me that is!)

The poster soon to be formerly known as Squidgy

A few lads from London Whites who view the site, but who don't post (wise men!)

And my sister - who has two teenage sisters and can no longer type in the Queen's :-k

Well done Lee :good:

aye, just got a text - good effort :good:

I'm starting to think the texts Squidge sends me aren't personal.. he says the same stuff to everyone!!

Well done mate! :good:

Did he call you a bitch as well then.

PS Well done Lee. You'll be pleased to know that I won ?26 in a quiz last night and I nominated Bowel Cancer as the charity to receive the winnings. Sorting it out this lunchtime to see if I can get it on the Justgiving site to get the tax as well. I know it's simple enough but I have to persuade the landlord that I'm donating and not pocketing as he usually sends the donations off.

Edit: Got the cash so on its way plus the add-ons

A really big thank you to everyone that sponsored me. I was very touched by everyone's generosity :good:

It was blinking hard going and I had to take 2 days off sick Monday as I was almost completely unable to walk through general stiffness and a few minor injuries I picked up along the way. There was around a 40% drop-out rate through injury or fatigue during the event itself

If anyone still fancies sponsoring me the link above is still active :good:

is it too late to sponsor this?

Heck no!!

To prove that I truely am a fooking fruit-loop I am arranging a team to do the "4 peaks" in June next year (like the 3 peaks, but over 48 hours as it includes Northern Ireland) :shok: ](*,)

Sounds interesting. Might be up for something like that.

A big thank you to everyone who dug deep to sponsor me for the event (especially an exceptionally generous TSO :good: ) I raised a staggering 1,057 quid through sponsorship and 620 through a few bits and bobs at work :hi:

Just to prove I did at least visit some hills. It's a bit blurred, but its the only one where I didn't really look in pain.

Bottom of Snowdon on the final descent. Grinning because we were glad it was all pissing over, but mainly because we were wizzing our tits off on Ibuprofen!

An a bit of a view at Snowdon too:
