pike_mill_white Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Another great game for Al Habsi, we didnt get to sleep until about 2am as all the local yoof were driving up and down the main road near our house with their car horns in full action for hours. The Saudi's won 1 nil so Oman v Saudi on Saturday. Tickets are like rocking horse.

I'd have thought they'd have stood a better chance agains the Kuwaitis so the match looks a tricky one but then again my knowledge of arabic footy could be writen on a pin head
The True Marple White Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) the final is in Oman - so should have home advantage Just chatting to my mate who is friends with the Oman keeper coach, John Burrdige - who used to play for City. He originally recommened Al Habsi to Fergie who didn't want him and turned him to big sam who duly obliged. Edited January 15, 2009 by The True Marple White
pike_mill_white Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 (edited) Well on a bright note Al Habsi and Oman won the Gulf cup on pens against Saudi, thats a whole cup he has got through without conceding a goal, pretty good effort really. Shame he has to go back to the UK and sit a feckin freezing cold bench! Should add a few bob onto to his value.... Edited January 17, 2009 by pike_mill_white
pike_mill_white Posted January 18, 2009 Posted January 18, 2009 What the odds of this happening in the UK?? Within 2 hours of Oman winning the cup the Government annouced the next day would be a public holiday for the whole country so had the day off, superb!
