Went to the cinema on middlebrook on Saturday night. Only got there late so the only thing showing was that "Role Models". Absolute pile of steaming dog sh*t. Which isn't the problem as that's exactly what I was expecting, but the thing that wound me up were the other folk in the cinema.

 

Whooping and applauding and heckling. There were about 3 bits that made me smirk slightly and blow air through my nostrils, but some of these halfwits were virtually rolling in the aisles gasping for breath as if it was the funniest thing they'd seen in their entire pathetic lives. I felt as though I'd been teleported to America. I couldn't believe it. It made me want to kick a baby's face off.

I think the over the top audience participation at the cinemas started with that Mamma Mia Abba type thingy doo.

I was told several times that folk had gone to watch it and there was dancing/singing in the aisles etc. Perhaps its now viewed as more of a social event.

If thats the case, we may as well start taking a few cans with us on a saturday night and chatting with our mates really loudly too.

 

As for other folks humour ....er.....Firthy love.....them poo faces going OTT laughing at crap just just simply wouldnt understand your brand of humour.

No, I don't recommend it. It's fooking shite. Typical predictable American teen comedy. But like I say, what made it infinitely worse were the other people in the cinema acting like a Jerry Springer audience. When the fook did this sort of behaviour become acceptable in Northern England?

 

There's a scene at the end where the geek wins something, and the cinema errupted into a near standing ovation, with people cheering and punching the air. I felt like every single person in there was part of some massive joke and Jeremy Beadles' corpse was going to be lowered onto me from the ceiling with a microphone glued to its hand. It was fooking bizarre.

We were originally going to watch that 'My Bloody Valentine' 3D remake, but Vue are only showing it in 2D. What's the fooking point? The 3D aspect was the only reason I wanted to watch it.

 

Anyway, The Wrestler looks half decent, so I think we'll try that next. Also The Cornerhouse in manchester are showing Blue Velvet soon, and I've always wanted to watch that.
