I would say the negativity from the manager affects the fans.

Don't worry i don't mean abuse at your beloved Gary, i mean a general booing, moaning, groaning which is par for the course at most football grounds when poor fayre is served up.

I'm not convinced he said this on GMR.

Good to know you aren't taking the piss

Chill, big lad. As I said, I asked a reasonable question and he's answered in a pricklike fashion. If he's in ESL tomorrow with a bedsheet, I'll let you off your lead! :D

:good:

Was there any need for his stupid comment?thats whats gets me.

I and like most true fans just want to give him time and see next season

how we do,whats the point in sacking him,i mean who eles will come?

not actually a big draw are we.

You know it's getting bad when you switch GMR on after Bolton have played and there's a queue of Bolton fans waiting to get on the radio to say "Megson out."

It's got to the point now of being cringeworthy.

I read a few forums and I have to admit a few Megson out folk do put across a good argument, fair play. then I put the radio on and it's always a complete tard who thinks that shouting makes their point more valid somehow. I shake my head and put my car ipod on at that point!

They were on last Saturday straight after the match(the Megson out brigade), it was as if they get some sort of enjoyment out of slagging him off.

I just hope it dosen't carry on next season ,but it will ,i've no doubt about that.

You do express yourself very eloquently. Any chance of backing up why Gary is justified in slagging off us the customer again? . I'm very offended by it.

What do you expect when he treats the fans with so much disrespect.

Most normal fans will think he's a complete twat now.

the 'customer' isn't getting slagged off in the quote

the customer is advised that the negative mood around the ground does nowt to help the players

so surely, the customer will heed those wide words and shut the fcuk up

Which came first, the bedsheets & chanting on his arrival or him getting sick of him getting slagged off for everything and anything?

And what makes you think you're a normal fan?

I'm interested to know ,in your opinion in what way does he treat fans with disrespect?

This is a genuine question.

How long have you been going to matches? you don't remember the abuse dished out from the Burnden terraces, to players, managers etc?. It's part and parcel of the game. What i don't like is the way Megson uses it as an excuse for poor performance, the fans are reacting to what they see.

How long have you been going to matches?

Oh, dear.

I'll make myself comfy for this one.

I'd have to say Megson has a fair point. It's been pointed out on many occaisions that the travelling support generally is much more voiciferous and all up for a good old-fashioned sing-song.

Not sure how stating the bleeding obvious is showing a lack of respect to the fans

But we've established Mary Spunkson didn't actually say those things.

My observation would be that negativity starts off on the pitch & spreads to the fans, not the other way round.

Clearly it's right to say that negativity from the fans doesn't help, but that's not the starting point.

IMO

I'm at work. I rarely read things properly or think straight when I'm here

I used to think that Megson came across as a pretty decent sort, even if he had a few too many shortcomings as a manager for my liking. After Sam Allardyce's posturing and the postives that only Sammy Lee could see, I found his honesty refreshing.

But he's starting to piss me off.

There was plenty of vocal support against Sunderland, but he's chosen to ignore that, because he's getting stick from people around the dug out area. I don't condone that, and I wouldn't do it myself, but this statement, if it's been reported accurately, condemns all the fans. He'll end up having to issue a clarification, as he had to do after the Blackburn away game.

He was interviewed after the Sunderland match. He came out with the usual spiel about making a profit on transfer dealings, and the interviewer asked him if the fans appreciated that. He could have ducked the question, said something along the lines of, "I hope so", but he had to have a go.

"The intelligent ones do," he said. He said this twice, it was a deliberate dig.

Our fans have been an embarrassment at times this season. Blackburn away, especially. But he does himself no favours.

There is too much negativiy.

Prefer away matches so I don't have to listen to some of the greatest football managers that sit in the ESL.

He's a nob.

The abuse that rained down on Megson from the away end was startling, if only because it bucked the buoyant mood enveloping the majority present. The chants questioning the manager's ability were followed by more personal attacks, all sung out while Spurs fans watched bemused and amused. Megson heard the abuse but, despite muttering his disapproval in his technical area, was less willing to discuss it afterwards

Is Megson too thick to realise that he is thick?

The intelligent supporters know that he hasn't made a profit in the transfer market.
