pity he never had the confidence to shoot with his left foot after he ran the whole lenght of the pitch only to fuck it up at the death by trying to use the outside of his right but as you say, credit were credit is due

He also deserves credit for winning the ball so high up the pitch to win the penalty..

His distribution is lacking at times but that will improve only with playing Premiership football and some decent coaching from those around him.

 

But I've never seem him compete for and win as many balls as he did yesterday.

 

I'm happy with what I saw yesterday.

But he just managed to keep you out of the team,a marked improvement on last season though,and improving week on week played in his preferred role of sitting just in front of defence think we have a good un here along with M Davies the futures bright.

We're slowly, but surely building a good nucleus of younger British players, which will serve us better for the future than relying on 30+ yr old journeymen and Africans who piss off every other season for the ill-timed ANC.

That's excactly what i say to mates who slag Megson off. Allardyce left us with an ageing squad Campo,Stelios,Speed,David Thomson etc - it was always going to be a difficult job for a new manager to start again.

Think we still got to see the best from him yet .It s all about confidence with this young lad . He s growing with each game and with young fresh legs around him to help with some of the graft im sure his all round game will improve . Hope he keeps it up.

The only problem I forsee is that this nucleus gets too good and becomes very attractive to the usual suspects. Then again, I'm sometimes mind meltingly optomistic.

 

We need to put ?100million clauses in contracts.
