Return Of Violence?

Featured Replies

Never really been into trouble at footy but can think of four incidents when i have got into bother, or had to throw a punch.

First one was after the Bristol City game in '83? when we had a sit down protest on the car park and eventually got moved on by police. A shop window went through on Manny Rd and a copper grabbed me by the shoulder, as he thought it was me smashing the window. I was only about 14 at the time, and when I looked round, it turned out the copper was my Brother in Law, he told me to fuck off home pronto, which I did. To this day, I can't remember if I smashed that window or not.

Second one, away at Forest in the cup in the Nineties, we were last minute and ran to the home turnstiles thinking it was the away end, got told otherwise and turned round and started to run to the away end. Not sure how they knew I was Bolton but an oncoming Forest fan legged me up, whilst his mate cracked my ear with the wooden end of his brolly. I went down then stood up to fight before realising the others had not seen it, so got on my toes and legged it. I was deaf inthat ear for a couple of weeks.

Third one, Derby away 2003? when a load of Bolton hooligans turned out, and we sold out, got caught up in the fighting outside and had to twat a Bolton fan who was attacking me thinking I was a Derby fan. He went down like a sack of spuds. I don't feel guilty about that, because if you're just hitting random people, you deserve it. I've seen him at away games since but don't think he realises it was me.

Last one was this season after the Newcastle game, there was a young Geordie offering out Bolton fans coming out the ESL. I was bladdered and smacked him. If he had hit me back I would definitely have gone down., but him and his mate ran off. Just gobshites.

I can see a pattern developing :aggressive:

Before I knew you Alf but the same thing happened to me at that Bristol City protest (85 BTW), the coppers were obviously targetting 13 year olds that night.

if it was 85, we would have been 16, and known each other a few months later.:good:
