Talking to people at games and a quick look on twiiter, opinion is split.

Out of contract at the end of the season.

Wouldnt be suprised if he retired.

Papers linking him with Wolves, maybe he just needs a move.

Shite against Macclesfield too.

rightly or wrongly, my perception is that he's a bit of a sulker and no longer an influence for good

see, i can't believe he's gone backwards so far in 12 months - unless he's not as committed as he was

I agree fully with that, but I also think there's a fitness issue at play here.

The way KD plays/played for us made great physical demands on his body and as such he needed to be kept fully fit as much as possible.

The current squad all look to be less fit than they could be: I blame the coaching staff.

He's more or less finished at the top level in terms of a full game. But he's not a bad option off the bench in the right game.

The other thing to consider is his lack of match time spent on the pitch, this has been reduced under OC and that cannot be good for any player. It's alright keeping fit but there is no subtitute for playing games to 1 - build confidence, 2 - keeping up with speed of play

I think Davies was in too early for pre-season he looks to have trained too hard and at the begining of the season looked drawn and slimmer than for many years, as his game is built on his strength and bulk, physically overpowering players the new slimmer Davies was actually weaker and less imposing and easier to play against than in previous years, his season really has not got going, therefore I have a suspicion the back end of this season he might be fresher than most and have a decent spell late on in the season. Even so I would be hard pressed to offer him a new contract and if by some miracle we did stay up I would wish him all the best and send him on his way.

he played plenty last season and the beginning of this

his ineffectiveness is nowt to do with a lack of playing time
