A man being arrested at the scene of the crash. Amir Khan tweeted the picture to his Twitter followers.

BOXER Amir Khan had a lucky escape after his car was hit by a suspected drink driver.

Noticed one of the range rovers involved in a crash at Moses gate yesterday had number plate 47AK , (AK47?) so could be one if his entourage or a gun makers tribute , not having much luck is he?

It's not Mikhael, he died just before Christmas, he did have some houses converted into bedsits near Moses Gate iirc, Marion Street to be exact - perhaps his son was checking on them or turfing out some tenants or sommat.

 

 

Mikhael Kalashnikov, whose work as a weapons designer for the Soviet Union is immortalized in the name of the world’s most popular firearm, died Monday at the age of 94.

Kalashnikov once aspired to design farm equipment. But even though his most famous invention — the AK-47 assault rifle — sowed havoc instead of crops, he often said he felt personally untroubled by his contribution to bloodshed.

“I sleep well. It’s the politicians who are to blame for failing to come to an agreement and resorting to violence,” he said in 2007.

Kalashnikov died in a hospital in Farnworth, Bolton - where he lived.
