Real likes can be worth a small fortune to the right business.

 

Fake like are almost completely useless apart from giving other users the impression your page is good and worth liking.

 

To make facebook work, you need a page/post that will become viral, getting shared left, right and centre. or you need to spend a shedload on advertising to get your page/post plastered all over users walls. But even then it really needs to take a life if it's own and become displayed organically.

 

Paying to advertising will be a waste of money if your page/advert is of no interest to most users. No matter what target audience you select. You can force people to take an interest in purple pizza.

 

Although, that doesn't mean it can't work if you get all the variables right, like I said at the top.
