Need a builder etc, got the names of five recommends over a month ago. 1 of the 5 bothered to turn up and quote just over three weeks ago. He hasn't sent a quote or contacted me. No wonder the foreigners are taking all the jobs, it's what "our lot" deserve.
November 17, 201411 yr We had some work done few months back came to around 4k,1 builder said to small of a job when he came to have a look wtf!,when someone did do it the fucker turned up when he felt like it Just had our small ensuite done. I wanted a basic no nonsense job as only me an maude will ever use the thing, fully tiled including 2sqm of floor, new basic sink, loo, towel rail and shower etc. So we looking at around £2500 for the job, they would supply fittings and materials and we would buy tiles. One didnt turn up, second came looked and said job wasnt big enough for him, third said it would be March. Eventually got a guy from a couple of mile away. Twas hard work.

Twas hard work. because there's so many advertising online or local directory etc it's impossible to get everyone round for quotes and more frustrating when someone says they will come and a no show! That gets to me more than anything fucking rude
November 17, 201411 yr We just got new windows put in and they've done a cracking job. The only thing was we really had to chase them to actually get them to commit to the job in the first place. Baffling.
November 17, 201411 yr The amount of times I've read on here " do you know a good cheap.... no such thing as good and cheap.... If you want a good job pay the money or do it yourself or get messed about. I think when people say "cheap" they mean reasonably priced i.e. not a cowboy who's going to fucking rob them. I doubt very much many people on here wouldn't pay up, yet many can't get simple jobs done. Maybe you know decent lads as you actually work for a living and don't encounter the piss-takers? I don't know. However, it's a fucking minefield out there.
