Exiled Girl Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Need a decent pub or restaurant in Bolton or environs that does pensioner (or child) portions of the main food offering (don't mean a special child menu with fish fingers, chips & beans!). It also needs to be open on Boxing Day. Want to take mum out as her oven is broken but she's not keen on going out if she gets a plateful that she barely touches. Thanking you in advance... Quote
no balls Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 (edited) I bet a restaurant would offer it if you asked? Edited December 19, 2015 by no balls Quote
Whites man Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Sit your mum between 2 women. They will not order any chips and just have "one or two to try" off her plate. Quote

amerste Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Seems like you need a Carvery, then put as much as you need on the plate. Quote
Exiled Girl Posted December 19, 2015 Author Posted December 19, 2015 That's why I said environs. We'll go to Horwich if necessary Quote

Worth trying again though. She was full of it when my sister took her somewhere that had pensioner portions on the menu. The other thing is to go somewhere that does starter portions of main courses - any ideas? The other reason is that Mr EG usually finishes my dinner but finishing hers as well would probably make him burst... Edited December 19, 2015 by Exiled Girl Quote

Good food but probably booked up for Boxing Day. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Take your dog along too, if you haven't got one take the cat. A length of wool tied to the collar can be used as a cat lead, you can also then use the wool to entertain the cat between courses. Quote
Youri McAnespie Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 p.s. Don't feed the cat for a few days as they don't eat as readily as dogs. Quote
