He may not have had it set in stone but it was still a place in the team that needed filling. Not interested in discussing Taylor's selection merits as it's irrelevant. Obviously Buttler being committed to IPL at the moment may of affected the decision? Vince to 3, fuck compton off, Buttler at 7. Bairstow at 5, hes shown he is more than good enough to play as a pure batsman.

Can't help feeling that Ali would be better ahead of both Buttler and Stokes unless they needed to set a target or chase quickly . Free the big hitters to have a good dip later on.
