Football Gone Good

Sunderland fans were charged £30 a ticket for Saturday's game at Southampton and as they walked through the turnstiles were given envelopes containing £10 and a message on it to enjoy spending it. I think Virgin Media have something to do with it.

Compensation for having to listen to Moyse drone on about how they're bound to be in a relegation battle.

why not just charge twenty quid ?

seems like a tax avoidance ploy or summat daft

theyre (the fan's are) paying vat on summat they don't need too., might only be 80 pence or summat but it'll add up

CBA doing the maths proper , but seems weird

Assuming its 80p per ticket on a 3k follow that equals £240k... Not a bad scam (if that's what their up to ????)

You may need to check the math.

Assuming £80 per ticket might work.

that's too much, i reckon it's :- even if a thousand near-geordies went- thats over £800 extra for the vatman if t'difference was £20 verses £30. Seems to me theyve given norman lamont* extra money for no reason.

the cheating way to do it iirc would be -

i don't think printed magazines have vat on, so i'm kinda surprised they don't charge £30 for a £29.99 programme + matchticket bundle.

the Vatmen Police whould probably kick down Rupert Lowe's* mansion gates if they tried that one , tho.

i bet ken tries that one , lolol
