Looking for a camcorder to film the sprog.....and maybe the wife :-s .

 

Kelkoo/Pricerunner have found some wild variations in price.

 

But, I dont want to spend a fortune...and want the 'latest' technology.

 

Im confused with these formats... DVD/Mini DV/etc etc..

 

Any advice would be helpful.

old days it was vhs format i think

 

then it was minidv which is digital, but still on tape, quite easily got onto disk, or tape - ive got minidv and its perfectly good

 

i don't think you need pay more than 250 for a goodish minidv

 

i think the latest is dvd, ie straight onto disc

 

ps bought one meself, novelty soon wears off, and doesn't get used much

I bought one in Tenerife around 1997 for ??200, I'd seen it in Dixons for ??800 so I decided that I couldn't afford not to buy it at that price

get a sony handycam dcr-hc14e cost about 280 quid online ( comet )and are brilliant to use. got a touch screen, really clear and really small which is handy.

 

has dv out .. which means using a firewire cable and card and the right package you can make the movies on your pc. ( it comes with software ),

 

 

got mine about a month ago and use it for my wrestling record matches etc and glad i did. plus with it being from comet i knowif theres any problems ( which there hasnt been ) i can take it back no problem.
