Henderson a doubt with a tight hamstring

I’d have chucked RLC on instead of dier.

 

All ifs buts and maybes. Another night we win that game.

 

People seem to forget we were in complete control for an hour of the game.

 

Nah. We were in control for the first 30 minutes.

 

You could see even in the last 15 minutes of the first half their midfield got on top.

 

Second half, they absolutely bossed it. 

A few tears shed in ours last night.

 

The whole tournament felt very much like Italia 90, except this time i'm 28 years older.

 

I was sat there thinking where did all that time go, knowing where i am likely to be in another 28................

 

Sat there having beers with my son, watching a WC SF. 

 

Someone who cares so much and is so passionate about his football made me feel so proud.

 

Believe me, there's been a lot of time and effort put in over the years, it doesnt just happen.

 

The final whistle came and with it an acceptance that i will possibly never get to watch England in a WC Final with my son.

 

This morning, hungover on the drive to work i allowed myself a smile knowing that i wont be spending a 5 figure sum, having an horrendous journey sat for hours in airports and watching us more than likely lose to France. 

 

Once in a lifetime is over-used, but that really would have been.

 

Anyway from Moscow to the Shay and a few beers in the yorkshire sunshine.

 

With my son of course...................
