Yeah I was reading the other day that it's being muted that either the UK or France could offer a 'nuclear umbrella' for the rest of NATO (or Europe) in exchange for the other countries footing the bill.

Sadly the US can no longer be counted on as a reliable partner in my opinion. Europe and the remainder of NATO need to start planning for a world where US support is not a given. It's doable - but it's going to mean us all getting our economies on a war footing.

There is also the possibility that he was innocent but the thought of standing trial was too much for him. That's part of the tragedy - nobody will ever really know.

So given everything that seems to be coming out. This guy seems to have plenty of history and was almost certainly there to cause problems. Which means the copper had probably been briefed to keep an eye on him - and that plenty on the march would have also known who he was. I'm even more in the camp of the copper after learning all of this.

Because there's likely to be people in that crowd who have loved ones that have been killed in Gaza. And if they have got a screw loose then they might lose their rag and do something stupid.

That's a bit of a stretch. I might tell someone who's Jewish to give one of the demonstrations a wide berth. Same way as I'd advise a woman in a Burkha to give an EDL march the swerve.

He might be. I think he's more likely to be harmed than anybody else walking down the road. Particularly if he's being antagonistic. Just seems sensible for the copper to have a word. Maybe I'm missing something?
