  1. Other than being factually incorrect, you're probably right. Certainly Greenwood should have achieved more, in terms of league placings, with the squad at his disposal than he did. However, rightly or wrongly, he refused to go against his principles.
  2. I guess that depends on whether you replaced him with someone better, and the financial package Taylor was on compared to his replacement, and the transfer costs... At the moment, we're a worse team without him - though arguably that's because we have no one else that naturally plays his position. Square pegs in round holes and all that...
  3. Agree with all of that. Begrudgingly even the last bit.
  4. Yep. What does he do?
  5. Been out a while, came back in the home game against Burnley and promptly got injured again. Funny player for me. His delivery into the area from open play is first class. Set pieces, corners, free kicks etc, very good. Unfortunately, he doesn't seem the sharpest tool in the box, doesn't read the game very well, and goes missing regularly during games.
  6. I'm not sure this time, but I do remember last time we were down, seeing information that said WHU STs were more expensive than over half of the top flight.
  7. No that's "only" ?800. I'm including away tickets, travel costs, etc.
  8. Who said he's dying on his arse? His plan a works for much of the time. He just can't, or won't, change it when he doesn't work.
  9. Hmm. Whilst we have been poor for much of that time, we have always tried to play football. Under Zola we were awful for much of the time, but we were awful at trying to play football - we hadn't the players to play the way we were attempting to, and tactically we were incredibly naive - perhaps similar to Bolton currently under Coyle? And I'd disagree we haven't been entertaining in 20 years. Under old saggy face we played some excellent stuff. The years we finished 5th, 7th, and 8th was as good as the days of Lyall and Greenwood. One of the reasons we haven't beaten you lot since the days of Burnden Park is exactly because none of our previous managers (until Allardyce) have gone to the Reebok with a game plan to defend, play one up, put 9 men behind the ball etc etc. Even the year we had a man sent off (Hartson IIRC) we were trying to score a 2nd goal when one up. Blake equalised I think. Had Allardyce been our manager that day and not yours, I'm positive we would have looked to defend that lead, and more than likely would have won the game.
  10. What choice do I have. What choice do any of us have? Bolton will be there long after Coyle has gone. Bolton will be there long after Gartside and Davies are gone. And so will you, or your kids etc.
  11. From what has been offered thus far, Allardyce is the naive one. Tactically naive. If plan a doesn't work, his teams are fucked, there is no plan b
  12. What? It's not about whether he's worthy or not. I'd have a manager with no league experience as long as they entertained. For 2k a year, I want to be entertained. I'd take that over winning the European Cup using Allardyce's tactics.
  13. It's nothing to do with not liking him. I didn't like old saggy face but was happy enough with his management
  14. I don't want to, that's not what I said. Were bolton in the conference, they'd still be your team wouldn't they.
  15. Said the same after a 4-0 win, we're still second and will probably get promoted. He's still the wrong man for the job, and I'd still rather not have him.
  16. With respect, that's piffle
  17. Sooner play in the conference if it meant rid.
  18. I'd happily see him back at yours. You can have the over rated scouser back too.
  19. Not unless you've switched the match to Burnden
  20. We're gonna get stuffed. Hello all. Long time no see.
  21. Clearly Bullard is awful. Otherwise why would we have paid thirty grand for him and given him away for nothing?
  22. What is this programme of which you speak? American?
  23. The absolute most SUFC will get is ?15m
  24. The ?250m is pie in the sky and Gudmundsson more than anyone is aware of it. He will accept anything above ?120m. There five buyers line is also bullshit. There are only two interested parties at the moment. One UK based consortium and one Arab one.
