  1. As soon as I wrote that I knew that one was coming!
  2. So this week I've been up to the hospital with my wife whose done her knee in. Seen within 20 minutes, scan and then out with free crutches and an appointment booked for a week's time. Then, my daughter has just had her two year check up and the midwife comes with a tons of gifts for the little one and some really good reading material for us. Bevan, as a welshman you were ok.
  3. That's too grim an image to keep in my mind for too long. What I want to know is how he got into Oxford with three B's and a D?
  4. Aye, maybe you're right. I can't summon up enough energy to really defend Ruth Kelly.
  5. A bit flaccid, what does that actually mean? MPs spend the week in London until Thursday.
  6. So currently you hate her for: 1)Having a succesful political career 2) Not being attractive (bit of causal sexism never hurt, eh?) 3) Having a hotel room in Manchester even though she has a house in Bolton 4) Not saying thank you for someone opening a door for her 5) The fact that her house is untidy I'm really going to regret this, but which one of her actual ministerial decisions did you not agree with? In your town what did she not do for the residents that she should have?
  7. I think you'll find the Crawley Labour Club has lots of left over Watney's beer mats that come in handy. Has the news reached you lot that Brown's conference speech was a triumph (of sorts, well the party faithful are impressed, personally i like to see him go for the good of my party) I have to hand it to him giving his wife a role was a good idea, although Ruth Kelly must be really fcuked off with him to anounce her departure after his keynote speech in the middle of the bleeding night. A cabinet minister announcing her depature under the spurious 'time with the family' line, rubbish she's left at this point to inflict the most damage on Brown - finally she may have done something that the majority on here agree with. Still, doesn't help me with my car stereo.
  8. Tits. Looks like I'm stuck with this one for the moment then. Guess I'll just have to take my full Metallica CD collection with me wherever I may roam!
  9. Boringly went for a 2002 1.6 Picasso, I just saw it on the forecourt of a local garage on the way to work 40,000 miles ?2,495. Part exchanged our 2001 206 so it's costing us a grand. Went for a test drive and it is true the 1.6 is sluggish and doesn't corner too well but for our needs at that price its perfect, couldn't find owt cheaper.
  10. I'm not fussy, believe me, as long as it works. The new car's got flappy bloody volume controls on the stearing wheel, I suppose the wires for this just plug in from the back??
  11. Its just as slow believe me, but the boot space...! Thatnks I'll have a quick look at Argos now, beats work. I'm having a little difficulty motivating myself as I'm off mid November.
  12. Right I've bought my car and now I want to get a new stereo for it, on with iPod connection as I'm stick of using my current iPod connector which plugs into the cig lighter. Anyone got any advice on good ones and how easy they are to fit rather than get ripped off at Halfords and the like.
  13. So you've just discounted: All of the Rollings Stones good 70s albums Jimi Hendrix Nirvana A lot of The Beatles stuff Beck Frank Zappa The Verve Michael Bolton Milli Vanilli The list goes on and on.... Its the ones with short hair in music you've got to watch
  14. METALLICA WANT YOU BOLTY....
  15. Agreed, I come back every couple of months and its a pity that I can't take my wife round town to go shopping because I'm ashamed of the town centre. Ok ashamed is a bit strong but you know what I mean. I know I don't live there anymore but 'souless' chain shops are just what Bolton town centre needs. It's not a town that can support boutique style one off businesses, only destination places like York can do that. that's why Middlebrook does so well because its got the big brands. I've been up there more times since I moved away than the town centre. As for harking back to the good old days, they were shit. As has been mentioned i this threas Stolen from Ivor, K shoes - funny to remember but are these going to make you go into the town centre? Now, Preston there is a place that has got it right, nice shopping, good bars and a nice look to it - puts Bolton to shame. Still, I don't live there so what do i know
  16. That is so much a B its almost a C.
  17. Metallica crosses any divide! I had mates who are only into dance music but have liked Metallica. Personally my favourite band of all time in Belle & Sebasatian which is about as far removed from metallica as you can find. Still, Metal Up Your Ass. Actually that seems an incredibly gay slogan for a rock band.
  18. I'd say this was more what Bolty had in mind
  19. That's rich coming from internet post-a-joke Bolty! Right, I can be in Brighton in 20 minutes, see you there, just don't bring Sting.
  20. Fair enough, whatever float your boat.
  21. Stolen from Ivor! Great shop, although what on earth did it sell?
  22. And I thought you might stop galoping round the outback like a middle aged Jimmy and try listening to some proper rock music! :p
