Unfortunately for me I went to Birmingham on Tuesday and Alonso's performance just reinforced my opinion that he's wank and can't defend to save his life. It's left back all day for me. Anyone thinking we need another midfielder just refer to all those stats about goals conceded, whilst some are down to being left exposed by a weak and lazy midfield the majority are down to sheer incompetence.

Not really. I want him to do well and won't be slagging him off. However that doesn't mean I think he's good enough for us, I've always thought that he'll come good soon and become a good Premiership player. Problem is I'm still waiting and have come to the conclusion I was wrong. Maybe I'm wrong to think that I'm wrong...

I haven't see any of the Peace Cup games. Has Vaz Te played out wide in all of them? I think everyone will be happy if Vaz Te and Helgusson do well (obviously) and will be giving them a chance, I for one can't wait for 4-4-2 and given a change of system I hope they give Vaz Te a fair crack if he plays. Anyone know if Joey O'Brien is fit again?

Those "bell ends" that sit behind you, sit next to you, in front of you and on all 3 sides of the ground, doesn't that tell you something? Why the f*ck do we need another backup striker? Anelka, Davies, Diouff, Vaz Te, Harsanyi. Yes Zoltan himself, he's on a 4 year deal, an old codger I knows goes to every reserve game and rates him very highly and from what I've heard he's played pretty well in Korea so he must have something about him. Unless he's planning to get rid of that arse Vaz Te............I live in hope! Update from Tribal is that we now appear to be favourites for this guy. "Bolton Wanderers are in negotiations with Nantes for winger Christian Wilhelmsson. Nantes want ?2 million for the Sweden international, but the Trotters are confident their ?1.4 million offer will be enough to land the midfielder. Bolton's nearest competitor are Ajax, with Manchester City and Tottenham cooling their interest this week." It was ?2.5 million earlier in this thread, if we really have offered ?1.4m something doesn't add up.
