I'll go back to a post from Jan / Feb, if we get promoted with Conway and Gale on that side nobody will care but we'll have got away with murder. Tale of number 9s too, theirs having far more impact than ours. Kenny where Burstow is today would have run the legs off Wooton

Terrible goal to concede. They've a simple game plan, target the Conway / Gale area and get balls over and behind them. Pathetic efforts by those two but then piss poor marking of their one striker. Erhahon gave us insurance in that area v Bradford, surprise he was left out today

When we’re winning the game we shouldn't be exposing ourselves to that ball over the top, drop off a yard and let the lad have it back to goal

I thought Cissoko did well at Bradford in a game / on a pitch that weren't ideal. Cogley is one who might be beaten with trickery rather than trying to run him, but we'll see soon. We could have done with Kenny’s pace to stretch them in these conditions but its what it is, let's get at 'em, COYW

I think Andy Hinchcliffe was back tracking a bit just after, remembering how colossal Forino had been. Those two interventions from Bonham were crucial to the outcome though

For the thread on the final I suppose but they will be giving him a lot of attention from the off. Equally, we should be looking to nobble Norwood early on, was very good at ours the other week

At the time I'd sooner have given RR another 10 minutes, he was the only one looking like he had a bit of time on the ball and a bit of control. Never easy to get to the pace of a game like that but Simons and McAtee did well when they came on

We did a great job first half of killing the atmosphere, kept them at arms length, they were hoofing it aimlessly. Like a home game bar 15-20 mins 2nd half

ACD is a threat just with his presence but has given the ball away a few times tonight. Just needs to be a little bit tidier. If we keep them out for another 20 mins or so they might start leaving more spaces for him though. Dalby on soon would be good, to keep us up the park a bit more

The only way we'd get him back is if we go up and they fancy loaning him to Champ again to see if he cuts it a couple of years on. Some talk though of clubs in Germany and France being interested, Brighton not averse to sending them further afield for good experiences.

I watch the latter stages of the warm up most home games, including the shooting in drills. Dalby's alright, pretty steady, some of the others are a real mixed bag, as they've shown in their finishing through the season. Gale hasn't hit the target for weeks, then only with a grubber. Cissoko similar. One of the crispest strikers of a ball in that scenario is Conway, would let him have a pen.

Folk might remember my handle on here being 'of Rochdale' once upon a time. Grew up in the area, lived there most of my life, watched them many times over decades. While Wanderers were always and will always be my no 1, I've the softest of soft spots for them. They've been through a tough few years, hopefully this is the start of a better chapter for them.
