Muamba Injury
i don't thinks its that bad. muamba played the whole game on saturday. its prob just a strain or a knock of some kind. if he was that badly injured then, being a friendly, megson would have withdrawn him straight away. hopefully there is nothing too serious

Muamba Injury
Does anyone have any info on how bad it is? He has been withdrawn from the England Under-21's and replaced by jack wilshire. Hopefully he will play against Sunderland at the weekend as he looks in tip top form at the moment

Pre-season
i think its gone ok. if you think about it megson has got most of his signings in early and taken a full part of the pre-season tour. another bonus is that all the games we have played have been away from home and we have not been defeated. hopefully that reflects a better away form for this season too. sean davis seems o have settled into the midfield well and elmander, although not scoring, has been involved with a few of our goals in pre-season so far. as long as we start off well against sunderland then thats the main point. it might not be too bad a time to play them as well as they have no craig gordon in goal and have a few defensive probs (paul mcshane injured and paulo da silva not work permit)

there have been quite a few work permit issues this summer. sunderland defender paulo da silva still hasn't been granted one despite a deal being completed a month ago and christian benitez at brum still hasn't got one. i'm sure there might be one or two others as well but i don't think we're the only ones. as long as we can get him before the sunderland game then i don't mind. (not that he'll start but would be good to have as an option from the bench)

according to todays bolton news chung yong might not have his work permit cleared through the British Home Office in time for the hibs game. Although from the sounds of the article that is the only thing stopping bolton confirming the deal complete

Gary Cahill
reports from last night and today say that everton have signed phillipe senderos from arsenal. hopefully that means that gary cahill if of their 'reputed' radar. also means that everton are likely to cash in on joleon lescott and get about ?20-25m. i don't care what anyone says, man city are unfortunately very firm contenders for the title as their team consists of this: Given Zabaleta, Toure, Lescott (most likely), Bridge Wright-Phillips, Barry, Ireland, Robinho Tevez, Adebayor That first team is more or less top class. To make things worse i can also see them picking up a cup trophy as this is their B team Taylor Richards, Onuoha, Dunne, Garrido Johnson, Kompany, De Jong, Petrov Santa Cruz, Bellamy Those 2 teams don't even include players like: Schemichael , Ben Haim, Benjani, Bojinov, Etuhu I think city have now firmly made it a top 5 and that'll prob mean that it is now 2 less games where megson will try to get bolton points from!

Miguel Angulo
Been linked with him from a few papers and internet sports sites. Apparently he has had his contract terminated at Valencia and is available on a free transfer. Although i'm confused as to whether he is a striker or an attacking midfielder? Some of them say he is a striker and other say midfielder. Either position we need to fill so if he can do both then that would be great He's only 32 and has a wealth of top flight, european and international experience with spain. He also appears to have a reasonable goalscoring record

i think riga along with a lot of our big signings from last summer will do better this season. many players from abroad take at least a season to adapt to the pace and power of the prem. riga and elmander will benefit from being injury free and getting a full pre-season campaign under their belt. they have played in the prem for a year and now know what it is about and what it takes. i think with the additions of sean davis, lee chung yong and hopefully a couple of other attacking players our style of play will suite riga and elmander more this season don't forget riga has a very good pedigree in both the top dutch and spanish league scoring goals and creating goals consistently as does elmander. muamba will also come good this season as well from the confidence he gained wih the under 21's even if it does take lee chung-yong a while to settle hopefully our big signings from last summer will kick on this season and will mean his involvement won't be as essential

nakata did ok when he played, altho that wasn't much. showed his passion for bolton by getting sent off against blackurn! he scored a couple of goals and created a few as well. i remeber that free kick against west brom and an amazing beckham like cross for vaz te to head in against charlton as glimpses of the quality he had in his earlier career. i agree i hope he will prove to be alot better and more consistent than nakata. nakata was a beckham-like god in japan and from the sounds of it lee chung-yong has the same kind of popularity and respect in korea. nakata (in his early years/prime) was a hugely talented footballer hence him joining parma for about ?20m - not much today but 10 years ago it was quite a bit). hopefully if chung-yong can adapt to the league and play regularly and deliver in terms of assists and goals then if (most likely when) we would come to sell him, we would make a very hefty profit. ?2m is not a risk in todays football. I don't think we can really loose with this signing all that being said i guess we'll see what he's like in the pre-season game against hibs as thats when he's pencilled into play. i just hope our other players can keep up with him on the pitch!!

maybe mike ashley should do that with newcastle

If City Get The Freak Lescott I Am Worried....
but arsenal have 6 centre-backs (even after toure has gone): gallas, song, vermaelen, senderos, silvestre - i can't seen wenger spending upwards of ?15m to sign another one who would likely play back-up/understudy. their spending focus will be on a midfielder and a striker and everton apparently can't afford to pay he'll agree and sign a contract extension in the next few days, prob when they get back from holland

If City Get The Freak Lescott I Am Worried....
i think if lescott went to man city for say between ?20-25m then Megson will know they have money to spend and will demand a high fee. He's already said publicly that he will demand at least ?15m. if he let him go for less than that then that could be the last straw for megson with many boltn fans but i can't see it happening hopefully cahill will sign a new improved deal before lescotts possible deal goes through. then everton can battle it out with villa, spurs etc for michael turner

Lee Chung-yong
and in other news nicky hunt has been told he can leave, although rumour has it he can go on a free. considering as how still has 2 years left on his contract and has played over 150 premier league and europe games i would at least expect we command a decent transfer fee for him. he's also still only 25 as well. at least ?2m i'd say. flog him back to birmingham

Lee Chung-yong
according to today's Daily Mirror and Daily Express Lee Chung-Yong has been now granted a work permit and is set complete his ?2m move. Hope its true as waiting 2 weeks did seem to be quite a long time to wait. Hopefully he'll be able to sign up before friday so he can play in the pre-season friendly against FC Eindhoven

finished 2-1 to bolton according to the bolton news commentary updates both sean davies and sam ricketts permormed really well and appear to be settling into the side - particularly sean davies agree with passmosster, we really need to bring in some attacking options and soon. if chung had his permit he would likely have played or at least been on the bench but that still would leave just 2 other attack-minded players in the squad apart from davies and elmander hopefully meggo gets asked about his progress in signing new players in the post-match interview - and hopefully he has some encouraging news
-

nice to see some things don't change - concede a late goal (again!) as we also did in our previous pre-season game, elmander hasn't scored (again!) and mccann shows he is useless (again! - ok then, he did score in our previous pre-season game)

Miguel Veloso
according to todays Sun Man City are close to getting him. Sporting want ?15m for the player. No way in hell Gary Megson either can or will fork out that much money on the player. he only has one more year left on his contract i believe yet they value him at ?3m more than Gareth Barry. obviously as soon as they heard of city's interest they sky rocketed the price. never mind. would have been good to have a player of his quality. maybe megson could reignite his interest in huddlestone if tottenham sign viera?

Zat Knight
just seen a video interview with zat knight on the bwfc website. you need to be a subscriber to wanderersworld so if your not this is a run down of what he said: - happy to be at bolton - heard the rumours linking with bolton and is glad to join an established prem club - hopes to use his experience of the premiership to bring success to bolton - says the manager wants to do something good at bolton - "break into europe" - feels he is more ahead in his pre-season fitness as he has played a few games already for villa - flew over on the plane with sam ricketts (fellow new signing) - best friends with sean davis and former room-mate - been made very welcome by the bolton players - good banter at the club as there is a lot of english lads - wants a good cup run and possibly some silverware - wants to break some records with bolton the interview also showed some video snippets of him training with the rest of the players and he was smiling alot and getting involved very well which is good to see. seems a sound enough lad and hopefully he can do with bolton what he said he wants to achieve

Marko Pantelic
rumour has it that wolves are very interested in signing him, that would prob mean that wolves are the club he has an offer from in addition to the two bundesliga clubs. read in the bolton news today that now meggo has beefed up his defence he will turn his attention to attacking options. if he tried to add as many decent quality players to his attack as he has done to the defence (3 players) then our squad should be pretty sound. (hopefully a creative mid + 2 strikers) there are a few decent strikers knocking around at the moment on free transfers - pantelic, kanu, morientes prob more that I am not aware of. there also seems to be quite a few strikers that bolton could attract on decent fees i.e. benjani (?3m), gudjohnsson (?4m), Mido (?3m) etc. I think someone like benjani would be the perfect signing for megson. he can play up front on his own or as part of a 2. he isn't too old. he has prem expereience and has a proven goalscoring record and most importantly for a megson signing he works his socks off. hull are rumoured to be interested but as shown throughout the summer players would rather choose any other club in the prem apart from hull it also said in the bolton news interview with meggo that he doesn't really want to use the loan market as much this season and would prefer to bring in plays on permanent deals

any more insider gossip on possible tranfers tylswhite?

i doubt cahill has a release clause in his contract apart from maybe a relegation caluse. when we signed him he was young, inexperienced and didn't have the stature or notoriety to need a release clause. i amagine if he sins a new contact (which i hope he does) then a large one will be included. megson obv rates his very highly and i am sure he will be a permanent captain of bwfc in the future (he was captain in the 1st half today whilst davies was on the bench) megson said last month it would take a bid in excess of ?15m (anelka sale money) to get him. he wouldn't say that if he had a release clause of ?10m personally i can see everton going for someone like michael turner who would prob want to leave hull if a big enough club came along. there is no point in cahill leaving yet as he is playing regular footbal and getting england recognition. he would find it very hard to displace the first choice centre-backs at the top 4 clubs. everton have lescott and jagielka with yobo as 3rd choice which would prob make cahill 4th choice. citeh will sign some world-class player (i.e. terry) so that leaves very few clubs in the league that could A- afford him, and B- play him regularly
