The slovenian goalscorer got infront of Lescott, Lescott instictively would be looking at Johnson marking his man and more often than not Johnson won't get skinned like that. The delivery was v.good and Lescott had no time to sort out a correct position to stop a glancing header. It 'could' of cost us the game if Slovenia came close again[which they didn't] but then you could look at Rooney for missing a hat trick of sitters. Lescott scores goals and is a solid defender. Given time i think Cahill can be good enough for 1st choice backup to Ferdinand and Terry, but not just yet.

No i never watch it Capello wanted to pick his strongest team available in his opinion for good build up for the Croatia game. It would of been good to see him play, but with England on top Capello probly didn't need to see what a new face can do, especially a cb against a team not creating anything really. Cahill will get a chance, but today he wasn't needed and Capello wouldn't of seen anything he hasn't already in training or seeing him play for Bolton. Johnson and Lescott were to blame for the goal , Johnson got skinned and Lescott didn't expect this and didn't react in time. England are playing well winning games creating chances, im not gonna be upset if a Bolton player doesn't play, he's never gonna play when players are fit. But what do i know , i don't understand football And yes i know it was a friendly, and there perfect to see new faces, but we have Croatia on wednesday and Capello chose Lescott 'cos if Terry or Upson get injured , Lescott will get 1st choice. If we had no game on Wednesday then it was a better chance for Cahill to play.

So what has Cahill done this season to be ahead of Lescott or Upson? England won, that's all that matters IMO.

Does anyone know if Ricardo will be getting a testimonial next season? He's been here 10 years+ and been a great [unsung] player for us. Also when he returns from injury, do you think he'll get in the 1st team that much and who would you drop/replace?

No probs Even though the last time i did was like when i 1st joined, it's people on here who have linked them. Im trying to start again.

Does anyone think Cahill will play for England in the next few years. He's a quality defender, 1st choices Ferdinand is 30 years old and John Terry is 28 Then you have players like Upson Lescott and Jagielka I think Cahill can be as good as the the above 3 but other than being in the squad and maybe someday be on the bench i don't see Cahill playing for England in the near future. He certainly has a season at Bolton here to try and get a call up to South Africa. But maybe injuries are needed for this or for him to show even more great performances then he already has.

We have creativity but maybe not the style to suit them or maybe not enough? Taylor - We're he lacks in open play, he delivers with set pieces and crosses. So we always seem to create a chance or two and sometimes goals this way. Gardner - Still after so many season he's still got pace and isn't afraid to skip past a man or two. M.Davies and Lee - Our 2 best passers in the team IMO, if both we're given more time and play with confidence, i think we will cause real problems to other teams. M.Davies has proves he can pick a pass and has a lot of variety ( not like Xavi and Iniesta but he's very good) in the way he moves around the pitch and were he spreads his low passes around. Lee has a lot of creativity, If he can get the ball he can play killer through balls and not afraid to go for a run at the defence. Steinsson and Samuel - Both like to get forward when possible and when we play with more width and a 4-4-2 these help us set up crossing chances and give more options in attackng areas. I think most agree we play to K.Davies's strenghts and sometimes our play doesn't allow these players to show off the ability, i think we have creative players that can win games . I think we have passers who can deliver for Elmander. I don't think we will have the likes of Okocha , Djorkaeff and Campo for a while who on there day could destroy teams with there creative styles but if Bolton can get some much needed confidence and play more positive players in there correct posistions and also in a formation with balance, width and also having the threat of K.Davies putting himself about and winning balls for our creative players to shine. If our midfielders can get confidence in our defence, maybe through a few clean sheets and solid performances i don't think they will instictively defend as deep and be more positive that the defence don't need as much cover as they usually give. This will hopefully help with further players up the field and giving us more outs/options/variety to out football game. I would of been chuffed if we got a playmaker, someone with a lot of flair and who isn't all 1 dimensional, but i don't think we can say we haven't got anything.

I remember seeing Fulham's new signing Elm play along with Marcus Berg in the U21 Euro's . Looked a good player.

Pity Emana didn't sign after how you described him mate, i've seen quite a bit of Klasnic, i used to watch the Bundesliga show and he was a real gem at times for Werder , dunno if Megson will play him regular but i think we have a good player here. Does this loan deal have a view to a permanent contract, i wouldn't like to see him go back to Nantes after having a great season for us. Klasnic gets the thumbs up from me Even though i would of prefered a striker who had a lot of pace or both.
