I think you are being unrealistic. Councils are cutting back as they are skint. They don’t need another thing to control. Police can’t deal with present crime levels without adding another.

There are not enough even with community police. In a rural town like mine there may be one policeman and one Community officer on duty. Sometimes none. They are not able to address shoplifting let alone face masks.

Who are you asking to enforce this? There are not enough police to process shoplifting and house break ins plus the increasing cyber crime levels. I’d rather they concentrated on that.

We have become less relevant whilst in L1/2 but hopefully that will change soon and your lad will get the bug. Better being disinterested than supporting another team though.
