I cant help trawling thru the papers and various web sites in anticipation for a transfer. I know most of the reports can be put down to lazy jouralism but even these get me giddy. Look where we have come in a few years , we are hotly linked with Anelka which has been met with dismay by many fans ::::::::::(im not his biggest fan either when it comes to his sulking). Joey O'Brien is a defensive midfielder . He only played right back because of injuries to other players . However like Gardener he was played out of position and did a great job on the whole. I agree his distributing wasnt the best at times and in a D.M position it will need to improve.It will be interesting to see if we dont renew Campos contract wether he moves Joey back to his favoured role. .

what about Mido ,now that Totenham dont want him. He looked good last season . Also agree with maje Agahowa would be interesting. I just hope they dont panic now If they dont get Andy Johnson. Sam must have been concentrating on him for a while if they were willing to bid so much.

Im guessing this will be spread out over many years . It will probably even itself out when you take into account jayjays wages have now ended, I doubt we will offer Andy johnson anywhere near ??30 grand a week. I did think the deal was dead as I presumed Wigan would paymost upfront therefore killing any future deal from us. So apparently not . :D/ :D/

Nolan laughed when I asked about him going to Man Utd however he didnt say he wasnt going so read into it as you wish. All the players were willing to talk sign autograsphs and have pictures taken. All except Ian Walker who didnt see the funny side when my mate wanted his picture with kevin davies but didnt want walker on it . Im not saying I want dean ashton as a matter of fact I dont believe he would fit into our system too much like kevin davies. I was just using him as an example where IN MY OPINION digging into the clubs pockets isnt always a big gamble. I appreciate there are external costs such as sell on fees agents etc but one day we need to take that plunge.

Totenham may be a exception when buying as they seem to take all the promising players and not play them so i see your point there However we dont have that luxury so i believe the player would get a good run out for us. Do you really think the likes of Dean Ashton would have been one of our high wage earners coming from Crewe. These free transfers are taking up our coffers and unfortunatly they are soom at the age where they dont command a high transfer fee

It appears everyone that dips their hands in there pockets to buy new players (anywhere between 1-6 million) make a profit on them when they sell them on. Dean Ashton we could have had him for a couple of million a few years ago hes now gone for ??7.5 million without looking that good in the prem or back in the first. Earnshaw looks like hes gone for 3million again not proving himself .Michael brown not produced the goods at spurs yet they dont loose money on him. The list goes on. What Im getting at is this gamble on buying in a new player for a few million really isnt a gamble. The proof is out there to see. Boltons problem is that when they do make that dip into the market EG Dean Holdsworth they seem reluctant to sell on until hes proved his transfer fee by which time hes over the hill and not worth a carrot. Come on Bolton its not a Gamble its Ambition.

Unfortunatly Im getting used to this lack of activity,however have no fear we will by 12am sign some over weight past it 40+ year old as cover .
