Im in no way over egging it or being dramatic but it completely changed his life.

Wrote about it elsewhere but he was borderline with football. Never played it at all, certainly had no interest in joining a team and only came to the odd Bolton game to be with me and was more arsed about the bag of goodies he got during the match.

After that day he could see what it meant to people, him and me. It was like a switch went off in his head.

Now his bedroom is a shrine to Bolton, England and Ronaldo, plays for a team, when anyone asks who he supports he proudly says Bolton.

Being mascot earlier in year was a dream come true for him.

    All down to that day.

That is absolutely class and what it’s all about

The worst booing of non white players I've ever seen was at Hampden in '85.

The grief Viv Anderson got was horrendous and disgusting. Think I've put a link on to it earlier in this thread.

The likes of Spider, Esco and London Wanderer should hang their heads in shame.....

I’ve met Viv on a few occasions, he has a travel company who someone at work recommended we use for tailor made holidays, when I got married we had about 30 of going to Greece so I went through his company. So when we had to drop off some marriage docs he happened to be in the office, he clocked me in my work tracksuit and got talking to me, I thought I’m gonna have to ask him about his time. He said at the time it was horrendous, his family got abuse he got hate mail and he was ready to quit but he persevered and in the end looking back now that made one hell of a difference to how players are accepted now.

I once bought the missus a Lexus RX when I was contracting a making silly money.

The salesman thought we were taking the piss looking to test drive a 2 year old car with a women in her 20s who had never driven an automatic before.

He was astounded when I said we would buy it. It was a bloody nice place to be but did about 15mpg half the time, far too small an engine in such a huge car. It had a playstation with screens in the headrests, pity the little un was 6 months old at the time!

Way it is now pal. I am trying to steer my lad to look at being a spark or involved in renewable energy as that is the way we are going.

I’ve never fancied a Lexus, even. Though I know they’re good cars.

My  best mate is a mechanic and he said the way cars are built now the mechanics of the car are becoming more simple and the diagnostics are electrical abs digital and being a spark with the way the car industry is going isn’t a bad shout

    CUNT!!!! 😡😂

You can fuck off an all Rudy with your fancy Tesla. I am stuck with a Passat Estate ffs!

To be fair to the barge, it is a very nice drive with more grip I ever thought a car like this would have. It also has the best satnav I have ever used, it is quiet, comfortable and has enough grunt for the school run which it only ever does these days. It is also economical, has great LED lights and has a boot the size of Dorset.

I do however prefer a car that doesn't favver a hearse.

Haha sorry mate I love cars and I never thought I’d get an electric never mind fully automatic

Wrights have about a dozen Fogs left, and a good amount of Rivvy on the shelf.

Owner collars me at the till earlier, looks over his shoulder a bit (thought he was going to invite me round the back)

Says "They tell me they've a new brew especially fro xmas due in next week, want me to hold some back for you? They say it's as good as anything they've ever made"

I thought to myself, I'm being bent over here, as he never even gave me a price and just said it was a 6%'er

I've told him to save me 8

Did he invite you round the back?

Been driving a Lexus for over four years now to minimise company car tax.

I have the petrol stuff hidden away including an original Elise with 10,000 on the clock and an early Suzuki  GSXR 1100

Haha, not smug at all. Especially considering I'm currently waiting on a door locking mechanism and door handle to be delivered from Italy which will cost be approx £350 all in.

    Haha fuckin hell

therws a reason that fiats, lancias, romeos and maseratis have sketchy reps. Parts are probably made by the same Dodgy Italian warehouse

This thread reminds me why I pay a fair chunk of tax for a company car. I just put fuel in the fucker. No worries about car tax, MOTs, servicing (they pick it up and drop it back off), tyres, brakes, nowt.

However, for the cost in tax and the allowance they give me instead I might lease one next time round as I would save some money but will have the hassle of insurance and servicing. I will see how lazy I am feeling at the time.

I have a Tesla through work and it’s the best thing I ever did. I pay the company tax. No fuel, no repairs, no MOT no service. Get a new one every 12 months. Charge it up and it goes like shit off a shovel.
Still have my classic BMW but that’s just a hobbie and not an expensive because it costs barely anything to sort out.
    Incredible engineering.

"The magic is already here, I just need to add some salt and pepper".

That moron Hill is at it again.

When he was coming out with these at Rochdale I thought yeah it’s quirky and funny.

Then he did it here and I cringed every single time

Now it’s happening to that shower it makes me smile

My first Xmas do where we all stayed away, I was playing the 18 yr old big man saying I could drink loads, so the older heads plied me with wine saying they'd bet I couldn't drink a full glass of red wine in one go, etc..  Well, I'd fucking show them wouldn't I...

I didn't even last until the desserts were served and was carried to the toilets and left over the bowl.  Apparently as I'd not returned half an hour later they came to check on me and I was slumped with my head in the bowl and the toilet seat over it resting on my shoulders like a life jacket.  I was then carried upstairs to my room where I was kindly undressed and put to bed.  Woke up in the morning to find I'd been sick over the side of the bed all over my clothes and I'd shit myself.  Lovely.

I’ve got to ask mate, who undressed you and are they on a register?

I reckon there will be too. I’d be keen to see Tutte, Thomasson and Sarce as a midfield 3, which I think is the most balanced option that we’ve got.

Certainly frees Sarce up a bit more to link up with the Doyle

What about black England players being booed when they touch the ball?

absolutely spot on. I choose not to socialise with them through they year cos I don’t like them. Doesn’t change just cos it’s Xmas.

Always someone acting the big man as well. Without fail. Knowing full well nobody can do fuck all as they will end up getting grief at work.

😂😂 that’s the most Esco thing I’ve read

I have to get on with my colleagues, travel the world with them if you don’t click it’s awful at times, but luckily I have a great set of colleagues

The big corporate doo I don’t enjoy, have to be on best behaviour , it’s a long long night and I despise wearing a suit
