  1. I think that landing spot for Bowers is a shame for his personal production, he was getting mocked to the Jets a lot but I never really saw that as a legitimate consideration for us.

The Penix pick... I like the player, but absolutely hate the pick, older prospect to sit behind a QB you've just tied down for 4 years. Had the pick of the best defensive player on their board, another elite receiver, talented O line and all would make sense for what is frankly a bad team.

    Bizarre.

    So, as an example...

    Baxter

    A traditional Back four
    (Jones, Toal, Johnston, Iredale?)

    Santos Thomason

    Collins Maghoma Williams

    Nlundulu

    We'd get battered every week

What no one seems to be considering is these teams completely omit our Player/Player's Player of the Year...

I don't mind considering a change to the formation, but that wouldn't ever include Santos moving in to a midfield role, mainly because he'd be shite at it.

FWIW think it's great that we have a manager that so many clubs get wound up about.

I actually think this is one of the things about him that damages us the most, his comments around games and regarding his own opinion of our ability only serves to get other teams more up for games against us.

He winds people and opposition up to the point of them having additional motivation, and doesn't seem to be able to give his own players that for the big games.

    It's a worrying trait.

Nah not having that he's supposably a professional footballer had a chance tonight to prove he should be playing but instead put in a pathetic performance

In every other game I've seen him he's been arguably the best defender on the pitch.

Then bafflingly doesn't get a look in for weeks until 3rd game from the end of the season against a team fighting for their lives, thrown in to a team with 4 other changes.

He was shite tonight, like a number of others, but I'm not having that period of not playing hasn't had an impact.

Can we not save all this bullshit for when the season has actually finished?

Let's be frank, we've seen enough from this team now to know the season well and truly ended tonight.

They don't have it in them for a playoff run.

Yes I was surprised how poor Forrester was tonight, he has nowhere near the forward capability Gethin has and JDC looks half the player without it but he was just dreadful and Iredale not much better.

Yeah, makes you wonder how much of an impact being unnecessarily left out of games has had on the lad

  7. I wonder what Evatt is going to do with all of his receipts now? Can he take them in to the EFL and get the points added on based on Possession % or for games where we were the "better side"?

Tinpot fuckers offering season ticket holders to bring 2 friends for free on Saturday, still struggle to top 10000 mind.

Not sure why anyone would be arsed what they're doing, especially their crowd sizes.

    Find it very strange.

  9. Is that dropped points in every single game in hand at the business end of the season?

Serious questions should and will be asked this summer. I'm not sure Evatt can instill a mentality strong enough to win the games that matter to get us out of this league.

    Quite frankly, pathetic.

  10. Seemed to have missed most of the worst weather, if anything it's softened the course up a bit, wind might still cause some issues though.

Seen the delay means Tiger will have to finish his round early tomorrow and then do his full 18 after that, stinks of another WD.

I'm intrigued as to how Sheehan would be in the championship. Hopefully we'll find out.

I'm not convinced he will manage, but we'll see, should we get there.

Conversely, I think he's one of the only ones that would manage.

The amount of conspiracies going about already is frightening. Utter fruitloops

Yeah, I will say on first viewing it did look worryingly deliberate.

But, on second viewing you can see the power issues and the smoke billowing out of the ship before it seems to lose power and drift into the bridge.

Just a very unfortunate, tragic accident.

Obvious question- why would he cop out?

It's in his own interests to play, so even if it's true that he doesn't feel its quite right, it makes no sense to go soft.

Not in his own interests if he feels playing would do more long term damage, I suppose.

Seems like he did that when he first got the injury and now we're nearly 8 weeks later and he's still out.

But, it all has come from some ill-punctuated facebook post, so also more than likely nonsense and he's just not been cleared officially yet.

  14. Doesn't sound that random or out there to me, imagine it's fairly common.

Bolton staff say he's good to crack on medically, but Baxter still doesn't feel right, Evatt feels like that's a cop out or is soft, they fall out over it.

I wouldn't be surprised by that given Baxter's injury history or given Evatt's personality.

  15. Stevenage A

    Draw - 75 pts

    Reading H

    Win - 78 pts

    Bristol Rovers A

    Win - 81 pts

    Portsmouth H

    Loss - 81 pts

    Shrewsbury H

    Win - 84 pts

    Port Vale H

    Win - 87 pts

    Peterborough A

    Loss - 87 pts

Playoffs at best going in dropping points in every big game to the teams around us and meagre semi-final defeat.

  16. Russel Wilson was more than fine last year, he was far from the problem in Denver.

I think it's a very smart pickup especially for a cheap deal for the year, then Fields sit behind a similar style QB and Superbowl winner for a year to learn how to play the position properly.

Steelers just continue to be a phenomenally run organisation with one of the league's best coaches.

  17. Not to sound like some ITK muppet, but I work with a fella that is very good friends with a board member.

Outside of Sharon, Evatt isn't well liked within the boardroom, and if we don't go up this year patience will be running very very thin with a number of them.

I'd be tempted into a change in formation, but it's not going to happen.

    4-3-2-1, perhaps?

    Coleman
    Jones Toal Santos Iredale
    Dempsey Sheehan Thomason
    Bangaverage Collins
    Jerome

I think a slight change is pretty much essential given the lack of proper striker options but he won't deviate from the 3 (or 5 however you see it) at the back, regardless of if he should or not.

With that in mind, I wouldn't mind seeing something like:

    Coleman

    Toal, Santos, Iredale

    Jones, Sheehan, Thomason, Ashworth

    Williams, Collins

    Bod

More of a 3-4-2-1, which is what we should have been doing when Dapo was here, and having Collins and Randell Williams as the wide/inside forwards that both can drop deep to collect a ball and run at defenders or can get wide and get balls in or run beyond Bod when he drops in as he is capable on the ball himself.

  19. I refuse to believe any single person could find themselves moaning about Sheehan this year.

About the only player that has looked consistently capable of playing higher than this division.

Are you talking about playoffs? If so I would fancy our chances as long as key players are back, fresh and rested.

    Not a chance.

It's autos or bust for this lot, we'll get hammered first game in the playoffs by any of them.

  21. They're not wrong about the goading the fans though.

They were all upset about it when Wigan did it but then go do the same for a draw...

I personally don't mind it, bit of theatre, but you can't pretend to be angry about it one week and then up to worse the next.

  22. Yet more evidence of mental fragility from Evatt.

It's no wonder his squad capitulates in games that matter is it.

Barnsley is massive and this isn't the way to get the players and fans collectively up for it.

Don't think you be any more classless than abusing your goalkeepers family to the point where he no longer wants to play for his boyhood, local team. Vile pricks

Hell of a nibble that is.

Nowt wrong with Cogley in the first few months

Yes there was, in fact I believe I made similar comments at the time, he's quick and can get into pockets of space well but once he's there is lacking ability wise to do anything about it.
