That’s if we’re playing Scotland… very debatable against the best sides.

Colwill and Stones is comfortably our best partnership when everyone is fit these days.

Then you have Guehi, Tomori, White, Dunk and even someone like Konsa (who is better and more deserving of a call up and minutes than Maguire), who have all had good or great games against top tier domestic sides over the last couple years.

The biggest debate is whether Maguire is even a capable footballer any more, never mind against the better European sides.

Not in the way I imagine you were meaning, yet here we are, and I'm gunna blame you because I have no one else to vent at.

Aaron Rodgers out for the season, after less than 5 mins?

    Very Jets of us.

We look like a Superbowl calibre team that again, that is just going to be short of even an average QB.

Great win but that sort of game isn't sustainable.

    Someone give Brady a call.

  4. I was just going to wait and watch the Jets game in the morning but I already know I won't be able to hack it, gunna have to watch it live.

It'll be a great game for a neutral but I won't be able to appreciate a single minute. Not used to this level of expectation.

  5. I've definitely noticed myself getting a bit more choked up at films as I've got older, but that sort of father son dynamic in movies has always got me good. Like the scene in Fresh Prince of Bel Air where Will's dad leaves and he has the rant to Uncle Phil, floods every single time, or weirdly the final scene of Forest Gump when he puts his lad on the school bus.

Another one that got me that I wasn't expecting though was the other night, watched The Electrical Life of Louis Wain on Netflix thinking it was a bit whacky and light hearted and it sort of descends from that to a proper depressing spiral. Then I found out it was a biopic just to make it better.

It's getting to the point now that you have to start questioning whether Evatt/Markham have an insane ability to scout RWBs or if the system we use just heavily favours creating to the right side of the formation.

It seems somewhat unlikely that we have had Fossey, Bradley and now JDC all be our most important creative outlets in the final 3rd purely by chance of them being that good. When you sprinkle in that Jones, Kioso and even Hickman and Isgrove have looked capable and influential at times operating in that role, it starts to become quite clear that the system is heavily weighted on the right side being key to how we play.

Makes you wonder why more oppositions haven't keyed into that more, and I wonder if it's a conscious thing from us or just a subconscious bias by our midfield and defence to favour playing that way as the majority are right footed?

  7. You can wait for a QB usually, I get liking one in particular but the drop off from the best to the rest is much smaller compared to other positions in Fantasy.

Prioritise an RB and WR in the first two rounds at least then if Allen is there for you in the 3rd it isn't the worst pick.

But if you aren't too certain then the main player board doesn't steer you too far wrong, one thing I'd suggest keeping an eye on is the bye weeks that your players are on, try not stacking too many all on the same week and you should be fine enough.

  8. Thing with Evatt is, this is the sort of stuff the owners are going to have to deal with from time to time. Either from issues he's caused for himself in the past like this indiscretion or the gambling stuff, or the possibility of him reverting to type and getting himself in some bother again.

Let's hope this blows over for him again, but you have to feel this is going to get blown up this time around given the size of the club compared to Barrow and the added media/rival attention.

    Palace £4m

Disappointing it's not more but that's a few bob for us.

Depends on if it was a sell on based on profit or not.

If it was then we're due to get precisely £0

  10. I'm sorry, is the club threatening bans to people here who give Hart and Evatt a bit of stick? Even online?

Get fucked. Who's the barometer of the nastiness? Is there an objective metric or just if one of them gets their feelings hurt?

It's pathetic for me this. This sort of softness from top to bottom is the reason we get spanked in big games against rivals that are far more up for it than we are.

One aspect of the game that will be crucial tomorrow is the battle for possession now that Maloney is trying to get Wigan to play football. If they can control possession they have the strikers to do the damage. Our system is to some degree dependent on keeping possession so that we can leave Rico in the big open spaces that suit him so well and push everyone else forward. We have to win that battle and everything else will flow from there. First goal will have a big impact on how that goes.

We usually fare much better against sides that come and try to play the same way as us, especially at home (See Sunderland).

Where we've struggled against teams in the past is when they sit deep and get physical, which is why we've been done by these lot in the past and struggled against the likes of Barnsley and others. So, hopefully they do show up and try to play a bit, I'd back our midfield and wing backs to thrive if that's the case.

  12. Two outrageous strikes in the game and a well battled finish, been an entertaining enough game.

I've definitely needed to switch to watching with a very different mentality to get to an enjoyment level, but since I have I really do enjoy the football England try to play and some impressive players for the level.

  13. The only way that "£20s Plenty" will ever been taken on at EFL level is if it's subsidised by the big boys, otherwise it's a massive revenue stream lost for the sake of a few folk whinging every time a Cat A fixture comes around.

  14. I think he's a bit daft not taking the move and would have liked to see how we reinvested the money as I'm really not sold on his potential.

But fair play to the lad, there's no harm in having players here that love the club and are committed to the project, hope he proves me wrong and turns in to a long term option for us up the leagues.

Once we've got a fit Toal and Bod back we'll be set.

Perhaps a Liverpool/City kid in on loan as Evatt & Markham seem to be on their good side.

I'd still like to see another RWB, I like JDC a lot but risky the amount of minutes he's going to be asked to play if we don't add some depth.

  16. I feel like I'm reading a propaganda thread to get Bristol to up a bid here or something, I'm shocked there's interest at all let alone from a Championship club.

The only thing that would ward me from accepting an offer of a couple of hundred grand is the fact it's so close to the end of the window and we'd need a body as replacement.

But if we could get them to somehow send some of that silly money they've just got our way and get close to 7 figures then I'd drive him down there myself, could comfortably spend a quarter of that fee and find an improvement.

He's a player with a lot of heart but for me lacks the necessary quality to play regularly for us even at this level, and I don't see how he can improve to the point of being a regular for us and certainly not to a Championship level.

Bristol live reporting Bristol City considering Thomason is their midfielder Scott goes to Bournemouth.

Won't happen though because Thomason is shite apparently.

We can finally benefit from the nonsense of this modern market.

Quote them £2.5m and let them negotiate down, anything over a mil snap their hand off and go get a lad from League 2 for a quarter of it.

    Rinse and repeat.

  18. The club seem to have liked the ability to have fans vote on the kit choices last year so they've done it again.

Website seems to enjoy crashing, but could just be a traffic issue.

For any one that's bothered, the home ones aren't getting a good reception, away ones personally I think are lovely. Especially the green.
