I think he's really well rounded, arguably a better overall player than Traff, especially early doors. Put that down to age and experience though, don't think his ceiling is anywhere close to what Trafford can/will be.
He'll do for us for a good while, don't see an issue with him being the man all the way to the Prem if it came to it.

Possibly. Hard to tell, but seemed to be coming from North Upper.
Didn't see it but when I heard about it assumed it'd be a kid that got a laser pen in a stocking for Christmas.
If coming from up there that's even more likely.

I'm sure he's capable of occupying any of those roles.
I was just pointing out that for the majority of his career and where he's had the most success it seems, is in the wide areas. Clearly quite good at football in general though, so I can see him being employed either as a front man or a ball carrying #10 and do a job, he'd just maybe being shoehorned somewhat.

May I ask whats the system he normally fits?
Can't profess to have watched him religiously but at Morecambe during their League 2 promotion he played wide left in a 4-5-1/4-3-3 and Fleetwood last year was a bit more free role but lined up predominantly in either wide area of a 4-2-3-1.
So he's mostly a winger and we don't play them, much like Dapo.

What’s the score with this Gomes chap?
Good player that fits a system that we don't play.
Same issue we had with getting Dapo into the lineup. Strange signing.

Seen a suggestion we might be interested in Mubama on loan from West Ham this window.
Think that would be quite the coup, believe he's very highly regarded, thought he'd get more of a go in the Prem this year. -

Does anyone in the area not know the names already ? Lad round here got killed a few weeks ago. We are hardly in touch with the streets but knew who had done it and why within 24 hours.
The issue with this one though is the wider community that have taken ownership of the grief though it seems, you have large swathes of the Trans and LGTBQ+ that are very angry and who knows where that may lead for the families.

Heard from lad at work that the girls who did it mums a teacher.
She isn't.
I knew the family fairly well growing up, the girl's eldest brother and I went to school together.
I understand the desire for the individuals to be named, I just can't help but feel for the rest of the family when the names are made national news, they aren't bad people but they'll be treated as such.

I struggle this time of year but there's a clinical reason for it that I often forget about because for the vast majority of the year it doesn't affect me in the slightest.
Got a very common Liver condition called Gilbert's Syndrome, there's estimates it effects a third of the population to varying degrees, but due to some medication I took when I was younger for Acne I've got further reduced Liver function.
Every time it gets to this time of year I'm feeling lethargic, depressed, low appetite and it's all mainly just a Vitamin D deficiency. Forget pretty much every year that it's even a thing I suffer with and feel a bit daft after taking supplements for a week or so and back to feeling pretty good!
Only saying all that to say the lack of sunlight can really really get to people but sometimes it's not just a psychological thing and getting some extra Vitamin D in your diet can actually help loads.

Think there's been way too much talk about striker options needed and that miss last night won't help my case here, but I actually really think it's wing back we need to improve on drastically.
JDC for all his pace and industriousness isn't a very good footballer and is actively poor defensively, and Williams had a brief spell of decent form early in the season but again for me is an average League 1 winger playing out of position.
I'd love Bradley back on loan and I actually think it's a possibility given his limited opportunities since his injury and LWB has been a real problem position for us since Evatt took over, we've not nailed down a proper first choice consistent option.

It really wasn't as bad as some are making out for me.
His issue was trying to side foot it when he's got to just lash his left at it, it's come at him quick though and caught him just as he's stepping, looks a bit awkward but there's plenty worse misses out there.

As an aside, talking to an Altrincham fan last night -Sitole or whatever he's called is crap by all accounts
In a similar vein, has anyone heard any reviews of Conway and Khumbeni at Fylde?

Remind me why we hate him?
He was the one that did Toal at Wembley with 10 minutes to go, purely out of petulant frustration.

Even if Jets win, they won't make the play-offs.
Season was essentially over 4 plays in, and was officially over when they lost back to back vs bad Chargers and Vegas teams.
Now it's just getting ugly.

Why on earth would we offer CJ a coaching role?
I'd imagine because he's a good professional and seems an intelligent bloke that's had a very long and successful career at the top level of the football league.
Just because his legs have finally gone at the age of 37 doesn't suddenly eradicate any of that from his career, I think he'd be an asset in that sort of role.

bills in danger of not making the play offs at this rate
inconsistent with visits to the eagles and cheifs either side of their bye week yet to come
Would have been in real trouble if the Jets had taken the opportunity last night.
Unfortunately, the offence is a disgrace.

Topley going well to start!

aye, it's quite different going to a different country
I don't think anyone is whining about it, I was messing around, but still the Jaguars had two games in a row in london, so didn't have the upheaval this week that the bills had so will have been fresher and ready to go
it's fair enough when both teams have to do it
maybe teams who play in london / germany should do so after a bye week
If I remember correctly, teams that are chosen to play overseas can choose how they would like to schedule it with their bye week, most opt to take the bye after the game I believe.

At 11-0 down going to say I don't think it's fair that the bills have to a play a team in London who have already been there all week
Is it any different from a team travelling from East Coast to West Coast for an away game?
They'll have to get used to it for when there's inevitably a permanent team here.

Somert on SKY saying the Saudi league are now going after the best referees in footballs top flights
A positive this for me, gives our lot in particular a chance to reset.
Finally get rid of these refs who have built these characters and brands. Focus on the next lot integrating themselves better with the technology, pay them better but as a way to entice actual former players to the role rather than failed sunday leaguers with a superiority complex.

After a shocking game last week Allen has a storming one this week
So it goes for the bills
I think what doesn't help for Allen is that the Jets Defence just matches up really well with the Bills, seem to really have his number, so it'll always look disproportionately worse when the game goes bad against them rather than others.

no way it's evatt, fa are only covering up a high profile manager, and the article says just short of a million was gambled, no way IE has that sort of cash
It is absolutely Evatt, the article references the blackmail court case he was involved in.
He had a 20 odd year career and played Premier League football, he'll be a millionaire a couple of times over. Plus, I don't think it's suggesting these bets were placed in a lump sum, or even over a short period of time.

whoever it is, and let's assume it's IE
but why would the FA keep it quiet and not punish him
if they were happy to punish Toney and any other footballer like Barton, Townsend, Trippier and our very own Jerome, then why let off a manager, whoever it might be
I have to imagine they didn't pursue it because the case itself was already incredibly complex, with the intertwining blackmail case involving two former players.
FA were probably much happier seeing the back of the whole thing with a court mandated anonymity order and hoped it would just go away, rather than try to navigate that situation legally.

Letting Tomlin go would be very very foolish, only reason they've been even close to relevant for the last few years.
If he ended up on the open market there'd be teams falling over themselves to get him in.
