We have drawn Arsenal in the FA Cup 5 times
since the start of the 1979/80 season. Name 3 other sides we have drawn at least 3 times in the FA Cup since then.

Pompey Away now WEDNESDAY 1ST FEB
dont know, but they have spent ??7 million on some Spurs squad players today. Which makes up for the 3 Africans Pompey will have at the ANC. I was working when we got beat at Walsall at Christmas 5 or 6 years ago. Dont think it was a proper bank holiday

Ruth wins the Barclays supporter of the month award
it said in the paper that when she got back from the far east in summer she got a train straight from london for a friendly at Hull. The free train pass reduces my admiration. and it also said she handles bolton programme subscriptions for the club....i bet she gets them free as well.

Robbie Savage was 46 yesterday
Belated congratulations to the man who lifted the Associate Members Cup and Sherpa Van Trophy. Robbie played in the Bournemouth side which knocked Man Utd out of the Fa Cup in 84 after playing in the Stoke side which lost at home to Utd earlier in that season.Arnold Muhren scoring the only goal Trev also played agianst Utd but was transferred to Ashton Gate before the Associate Members Final at Boothferry Park.He scored on his debut at Bootham Crescent for the Robins as they gained promotion that season. Robbie also played for the Cherries at Burnden in 84 when they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from 6ft Glaswegian Billy Rafferty in front of what i believe is Boltons 2nd lowest post war league gate. Robbie had a glorious summer of 88 at Burnden.A few weeks after scoring at Wrexham he went on as sub for Jeff Chandler in the Lancs Cup final against Preston which we won 1-0 in front of 5,757.John Thomas scoring.

New Years resolutions
get rid of the computer. i did and will only be on here during the luncheon interval at work. which means the end of one or two amusing characters on rivals

Rooney! WTF
I said it after our 2-2 draw last season......Ronaldo is the best player i've seen live. And that was only after seeing him as a sub against us twice His final ball isnt good enough for him to be world class but his pace is too much for our defence to handle. The lad frightens me more than Henry or anything in the Chelsea side.

Quotes from tomorrows programme
Fergie "Every season he amazes you and this year in particular as Bolton storm along in both the Premiership and Europe. But then sam allardyce is an incredible man who has performed footballing miracles, steering his club into the select band of leading clubs who dominate our game" Louis Saha "The nice thing about playing Bolton is theres always a good atmosphere.I've been really looking forward to games like this one" Pat Crerand "Theres no doubt Bolton will provide one of the toughest tests of the season,Sam Allardyce has done a marvellous job at Bolton over the last few years" I wont spoil anyones enjoyment by posting more revelations from the programme but it needs to be pointed out that we dont get high praise like that from the bitter Villa and Geordie programmes

Bolton and FA Cup
We played Linfield Athletic and Third Lanark away in the cup in the 1800s. Whether the games took place in Ireland and Scotland,i dont know.

Division 4 memories
Darren Peacock was the number 3 for Newport when they lost 0-6 at Burnden. He'd been out with a long term injury and that game was his first of the season. I think it was a fat aging pro with dark hair in the midfield who got the Paddock supporting him though. Was probably either Steve Tupling or Kevin Hamer who both had a generous head of hair in the team photo.
-
sams bullshit !
It is the last thing Sam would have wanted, He took a gamble resting players at Sunderland which didnt come off and now he doesnt get a match that he saved his best team for.
-
Division 4 memories
Football was more honest in those days. When you travelled up to the North East on Boxing Day you knew Neal would pick his strongest team, however poor his best team was. No "Im saving them for Stockport and Scarboro" nonsense
-
here comes winter
Will be ironic if blizzards postpone the Boro match. We sacrifice a game at Sunderland to keep our best players fresh and they have a day off anyway

i never knew that kevin muscat

what did you get?
Yes i've got them they can be bought for a pound each. I've also got the video from Wigan away but its on Video2000 which was an alternative to VHS and Betamax at the time....its got Darlington away on the other side of the tape. Not been able to watch them since about 1988. My home isnt cluttered apart from 4 cardboard boxes in the spare bedroom.Having no kids and a girlfriend who wont move in until shes married does help regarding space.
-
what did you get?
12 football books. The one i will read first being an autobiography of Brian Moore. 7 football programmes.6 Bolton from the early 60s and Wimbledon away from 95/96. 135 cigarette/bubble gum cards of various teams and players from the 50s and 60s. And some other things which are more functional but less exciting.
-

Amsterdam
agreed on Hamburg. But in terms of the brasses only i would rate the punters mile between Prestwich and Cheetham Hill higher than the Reeperbahn. That is going off looks of the brasses and the range of services offered.
