  1. They will be telling the players to swap shirts with the Man Utd team next to take advantage of their worldwide following.
  2. I think Sorin is the best player we have been linked with this summer and would rather have him than either Anelka or Saviola. Offer him up to 35k per week
  3. some of us are tearing our hair out at Sams performance in the transfer market this summer. The central defence and central midfield is worse than less season and we are still waiting for a striker who can finish.
  4. There is a December 62 Liverpool v Villa programme on sale for ??5 at Brentside Programmes. At the fair at Altrincham in May there was a 78/79 Man Utd v Norwich from a postponed game on sale for ??315,so some of them are worth going to the ground for even though the game has been called off. And Brixton....the ??40 basic fee includes kissing at Arabesque up St Georges Rd, so im never without a snog for long.
  5. Yes.I went to the Bolton programme fair at the Exel Centre in March. And i went to the Altrincham programme fair at the Crest Court Hotel in May.
  6. 1.58/59 Everton v Bolton. This is a beauty because its my first Bolton away from this season and the league table has Bolton top on Boxing Day. The Evertonia column exclaims "Bolton are bonny cup fighters and come to Goodison Park as one of the most formidable teams in the First Division."Nice programme but we got beat and ended the season in 4th,11 points behind Wolves. 2.60/61 Shrewsbury v Aldershot FA Cup 3rd rd 2nd replay at Villa Park. I'm not a Shrewsbury or Aldershot collector but i couldnt resist this one because its a single sheeter and these get me excited. In fact this now beats my 63/64 Bury v Huddersfield reserves as my oldest single sheeter. Its in good nick although the previous owner has noted that Aldershot won 2-0 and the gate was 8,622 in black ink. 3.93/94 Swindon v Man Utd.My supplier was having a 25p summer sale and i couldnt resist this one as a long term investment. Its an attractive programme with a picture of Fraser Digby on the front and a reprint of the 69 Swindon v Arsenal League Cup Final programme inside. This of course was Swindons only Premier League season and is bound to increase in value as future generations of Wiltshire collectors put it on their wishlist.I expect to make at least a fiver on this one when i sell it in the 2030s.
  7. Carlos paws tiny end = anagram of Incessant word play
  8. where are they having the programme stalls then?

One thing has always puzzled me about Mansfield When we drew at Field Mill in 86/87 to the right of the away end painted on a wall at the side of the empty stand were the words BWFC in large white letters. Does anyone remember that and had it been painted that day or had it been there since our visit in 77/78?

was 3-1 midweek in 90/91 I think it was the Tuesday after our long unbeaten run had ended at Mansfield.
  11. With the poor midfield we had out today i am surprised over 25,000 made the effort. I definitely wouldnt have paid over ??20 to watch a team that had little hope of beating Wigan. That said Sam has done brilliantly to avoid defeat against Man City,Pompey,Blackburn and Wigan without the Africans and his board not prepared to give him any money.

i went to the 4-0 at home when they couldnt cope with Arnar and one of their fans invaded the pitch. but watched the away game in a pub in Barking. 98/99 was a bad season in more ways than one...Utd treble,City play off win and our programmes were a4 in size which are a swine to store.
  13. the train from Bolton to Stansted was ??33 return on the day of the draw. I've got a single to Stansted if anyone wants it. leaves Bolton Wednesday morning.
  14. Sam would take the Newcastle job if he has accepted that he wont get offered England or Man Utd. Because with Newcastles spending power he has more chance to win a trophy in the next 5 years than with us. Even if it is only the Uefa Cup or League Cup.
  15. Not buying anybody in the transfer market will lower the Wigan gate on Saturday. ??31 in the cheap seats to watch a midfield without JJ,Faye,Speed,Campo and even Fadiga. If Nolan gets injured tonight our midfield will be pisspoor on Saturday unless he can get O'Brien or even Hunt to do a job there. I wouldnt pay ??31 to watch the Wigan game if i hadnt got a season ticket.
  16. West Ham will be another awful gate if they dont cut prices. The weekend after we play Marseille at home, many people wont pay ??25 for West Ham ??20 for Marseille and ??15 for West Ham is the max it should be.
  17. Would be a nice draw. We've only had one competitive game at Layer Rd in my time and it was one that not many went to. Was on a Friday night and our fans were banned. The matchball was sponsored by Bolton fans who got some complimentary tickets. So some made it. And thankfully Ruth brought back some programmes thatwere on sale in the club shop the week after.
  18. Martin O'Neill has told his mates that he would accept the England job. Alan Curbishley is now the first choice for the FA. Our only likely signing before the deadline is the centre half who captains Israel.Forget his name.
  19. I wonder if there is time to offload him to Spain now before the deadline on Tuesday.
  20. A draw would be good then we can postpone Birmingham away until we have our Africans back.
  21. This home match will have cost collectors ??6 for 2 programmes. But thats life.
  22. I approved of Neville's antics yesterday. The Scousers had been singing about George Best and deserved to suffer a last minute defeat for their lack of respect....and getting English clubs banned from Europe.
  23. He also had a fine game against Manchester City in 2002/03.
  24. i may seem old but its another 31 years before i will receive my state pension. assuming they dont put up the retirement age.
  25. I provide professional advice on the value of peoples programmes and the quality of strip clubs and brothels.
