  • Speaking of mums sewing on badges, god knows what mine thought putting this bottom one on my 1970s scarf.  (think I posted this before but worth a second airing)

one of the guys from Bukta set up Front Runner from Gilnow Mill- went on to supply kits to Betis, Seville, Valladolid, Bradford and a few more. Maradonna wearing a shirt made in Daubhill? Yeah that ha

  • Bertie, you were ahead of your time mate. Years (even decades later) we sarcastically chant 'Wanky Wanderers'. Visionary.

Is that the yellow shirt Sheffield Wednesday wore, when their kit man forgot to pack their alternate kit and the referee determined that their blue and white stripes with blue shorts was a clash with our strip?

What a kit. Basically lived in that as an 8 year old

We've never had a better one

no, they wore the matchwinner one from the previous year- i'm fairly sure that particular yellow kit was made by front runner, on behalf of reebok. it was a standard pattern jacquard with the same collar as the other kits

I don't think the yellow one there ever existed

this one might be better- 3.24 you can see its not the matchwinner one

I stand corrected

My memory of 1993/94 season is correct, but you are correct that we gave them an old kit from a season or two earlier. This Wednesday site shows the kit they used, which has black trim (rather than blue) and a left aligned badge (rather than central).

'Jacquard' !!

No self-respecting Boltonian bloke would use this word. Explain thi' sen.

  1. an apparatus with perforated cards, fitted to a loom to facilitate the weaving of figured and brocaded fabrics.
    • a fabric made on a loom fitted with a jacquard, with an intricate variegated pattern.
    • a loom fitted with a jacquard.
noun: jacquard loom; plural noun: jacquard looms

That long sleeved yellow one was a thing of beauty. It was never released like matt said.

Played in it at Boro in the snow, West Brom away as well as Lincoln in the cup.

found a few inc Southend away- seemed a lucky charm (unless Coleman had it on when he broke his leg). Only ones I saw for sale I reckon were match issue- there were card board cut outs of players int town centre shop (centre spot), including stubbs... when he was sold, a bobby hat was pulled over his face!

No we wore the Red and Blue number the day Coleman broke his leg.

Was feb 1995 live on ITV and by that time the yellow kit was obsolete and had been replaced by the then released yellow with blue pin stripes one.

Yeah that’s online, the one I posted in store. That one online I reckon is a former academy kit- 15 numbered, with no sponsor (u18s). If it was 16 not 15 I’ll be all over it
