lido ....abc :-k

the one on bradshawgate ....... bottom of great moor street.

the dance factory was on the corner , or was it the bees knees :D

I think that was the Lido. Then it got called Studios 1,2 & 3.

The ABC was near Harker & Howarth and Henry Barrie (schoolwear for the young gentry)

The Odeon was by the bus station.

Bees Knees was on Crompton Way, opposite Tonge Cricket Club!

I remember my parents trying to remember all the old cinemas in Bolton when they were younger, I think there were about 41 of them. All single screen of course :D

Your not half missing Bowton are you NW, remember Normans old fashioned english chippy on Newport St. :D

PS of course, they were called picture houses in those days, not cinemas.

you know something its suprising how much i've forgotten about bolton.

its been 10 long years since i left god's country.

just silly things like ''names of pubs '' '' streets'' etc etc

i've been back home a few times ,,mainly flying visits, funerals. and so on.

even my old haunts on chorley old road have gone ](*,) fuckin resturants [-X

the last time i was in the town center ..i could not remember a single boozer

but i'll blame that on morrisgreen :bb :bb :bb

at least i still have mi accent

EG, i had the misfortune to break a couple of my ribs on new years eve, i dont no when it happened, but if i cough or laugh, im in agony. You just made me laugh.----you sadist :D

northants, I've never been able to remember street names in Bolton even when I lived there. I used to be able to give directions by landmarks, usually pub names (which was quite worrying for my mum when I was about 8 or 9).

Nowadays, I can't even remember the pub names. Before the game we used to go in one which was by the NatWest Bank & Whiteheads called the Three somethings. Either Crowns or Tuns I think but I can't remember ](*,) ](*,)

Never having had a car when I lived there I find driving around a total nightmare.
