A depressing sight

I have just drove past the sacred ground which was once 'Burnden Park'

An area of ground steeped in history, a place that means so much to so many of us. There are many great memories, great goals, crunching tackles, fantastic atmospheres with the lads on the terraces, and wonderful characters on and off the field.

I am sad to say that the Gypos have moved their caravans onto the derelict land where our heros once stood. The new residents have done nothing to change our view of their stereotypical don't give a sh!t existence with litter strewn right across the disused car park.

A very sad and depressing sight indeed sad-smiley-066.gif

I have no idea if the Council have granted permission for this, but if they have they should be ashamed of themselves.

........who's goin Pikey bashing?

i cant see how its owt to do with the council

that land now belongs to walmart/asda

i don't think theyll waste much time on shifting em

this is the 2nd time they have been on there in the last year....

the last time they were on it took Big W weeks to shift them and even then they had to get help from police and authorities.........

they may litter the place but they will never destroy the memories of the great Burnden Park, with a pie from across the road and a pint from which ever pub you fell in.........

those were the days....... ;dd

Build the new Asda on top of 'em

Build the new Asda on top of 'em

then they may get arrested for shop lifting............

boom boom!!!! :-$

Would have been nice if BWFC/local govt reclaimed the land and built a small multi-purpose stadium for the reserves and academy to play.

Is Rice'n'Easy still there??

chip barm and jumbo sausage used to set me up nice for getting in the Paddock about 10 past.

At the height of the BSE scare I remember asking the scary looking chinese woman behind the counter what was actually in the jumbo sausages. Full marks for honesty when she said "I've no ragging idea"!

best way to kill a gypo thread anyone?

go on bigtoe-start it in shunkys

Remember the gypos making camp on Reebok car park a couple of years ago. As per normal they told the authorities to get stuffed, and they would only speak to the councils gypsy liaison officer. They soon packed up their kids and dags when they found out the season was due to start in a couple of days.
