I have just drove past the sacred ground which was once 'Burnden Park'

An area of ground steeped in history, a place that means so much to so many of us. There are many great memories, great goals, crunching tackles, fantastic atmospheres with the lads on the terraces, and wonderful characters on and off the field.

 

I am sad to say that the Gypos have moved their caravans onto the derelict land where our heros once stood. The new residents have done nothing to change our view of their stereotypical don't give a sh!t existence with litter strewn right across the disused car park.

 

A very sad and depressing sight indeed

 

 

I have no idea if the Council have granted permission for this, but if they have they should be ashamed of themselves.

this is the 2nd time they have been on there in the last year....

 

the last time they were on it took Big W weeks to shift them and even then they had to get help from police and authorities.........

 

they may litter the place but they will never destroy the memories of the great Burnden Park, with a pie from across the road and a pint from which ever pub you fell in.........

Remember the gypos making camp on Reebok car park a couple of years ago. As per normal they told the authorities to get stuffed, and they would only speak to the councils gypsy liaison officer. They soon packed up their kids and dags when they found out the season was due to start in a couple of days.
