fruitbat69 Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Wonder if anyone can help me. I am having problems with a few channels with my SKY. I can get all the movie channels but none of the sports. (boo hiss) I can get SKY 1 but not SKY Mix or a couple of the music channels. The channels I can't get say "satellite signal cannot be received". Had a mess with all the connections and they seem OK. I can't understand that I am getting the majority of the channels. Has anyone else experienced any problems like this. Are there any SKY experts out there that can help. Reluctant to call SKY at the moment as will spend 40 mins to an indian call centre and they charge ??65 for coming out (cheek when I am paying ??41 a month to them) Quote

As far as paying - tell them you want to cancel the subscription as you dont want to pay for it to be fixed and if you cannot watch all the channels. They wil then put you on hold and say they are transferring. Next person you speak with is a manager, who will tell you they will pay half the repair costs. Tell them no you prefer to cancel - which point they will pay for the full repair. If they call your bluff - just re-sigh up and get free installation in a days time. You should be outside your 12 month contract as otherwise you would have 12 month warranty Quote
Traf Posted July 12, 2005 Posted July 12, 2005 Turn it off and on again. If you ring Sky with any technical problem, that is exactly what they will tell you to do. Ian used to be in charge there! Quote

Guest Posted July 13, 2005 Posted July 13, 2005 Hi Salford White How does the getting a new system work. Won't SKY twig that I live at the same address and have the same tel number ? Just cancel it, then resign up - They are not going to refuse your money! They will back down on the repair costs anyway so wont come to that. Drop NTL into the conversation. If you are paying close to ??500 per year they are not going to lose your business over a ??30 costs call out Quote

fruitbat69 Posted July 18, 2005 Author Posted July 18, 2005 Sky man came out Saturday and fixed it. Apparently LNB was knackered. My Sky sports are now working for the Asia trophy starting on Wednesday. Normal service is resumed. :D/ Quote
