Horwich Posted November 19, 2003 Author Posted November 19, 2003 just had this email Selection: Lord of Methley (E/W). (12.00 Southwell) Although he has won over ten furlongs, eight or nine furlongs on an easy surface are his ideal conditions and the key to him seems to be the fitting of a visor. On the seven occasions he has worn it he has won twice and been places three times. Compare that with the seventeen times he hasn't worn it and in those races he has never won or been placed. The stable have had a quiet year and do not have many A/W runners although they are 1-7 at this track this year. Lord of Methley ran here earlier in the season (his only attempt) and, although well beaten, that was over twelve furlongs without the visor and, in the circumstances, he probably ran as well as could have been expected. A handicap mark of 50 looks reasonable for one of his ability and as he likes to race prominently he should be ideally placed to follow the pacesetters and avoid any potential trouble in this large field. At likely big odds he is worth a small E/W investment. anyone know the odds, the email says big odds, the paper says 7/1. i'll advise a bet if the odds are 10/1 + on betfair (can u post place odds aswell?)....anyone know? no bet until odds are verified Quote
Traf Posted November 19, 2003 Posted November 19, 2003 Betfair quote 19.5 the win and 3.7 the place. Your advice please! Quote

Horwich Posted December 3, 2003 Author Posted December 3, 2003 just had this email this is a very very long shot, read the write up and if you fancy it, have a SMALL SMALL BET (might be better doing place?) SOUTHWELL 2.30 Cardinal Venture finished last on his only attempt at this track and much will depend on whether he is a Wolverhampton specialist or not.One I fancy at far bigger prices is the Alex Sadik trained CRUSOE.. Record when running after a break of 9 days or more: 9640020070029577300559(0-23) Record when running with a break of 8 days or less: 2341763183142113(5-16) Record at the 3 all weather tracks: Lingfield:Never raced there Wolverhampton:746531874271535(2-15) Southwell:200302179311309(3-15) Combine Southwell runs when running with a break of 8 days or less: 317311(3-6) Given those conditions today I have to be on him @34.0 I'M NOT GONNA INCLUDE IT AS ONE OF MY BETS ON THIS THREAD-JUST INFO REALLY Quote
