Sandown. 2.55 is a tricky race with only 5 runners: PRIVY SEAL will not mind the ground & is bred to enjoy the step up to 10 furlongs. Looks the one to beat & can land this for the in form John Gosden yard. African Dream could be the danger. Sandown. 4.35. HAZYVIEW is an Improving performer who destroyed his field in a competitive Newmarket handicap just 8 days ago. Acts with give in the ground & looks the one to beat with a 6lb penalty. Quote

Horwich Posted May 12, 2004 Author Posted May 12, 2004 1.30 York The going at York based on todays times is far worse than they state, it is riding 5 seconds per mile slow which isn't good/soft but more near heavy. DRAGON FLYER has only raced on ground like this twice before and won on both occasions. She rarely runs in handicaps but will be one of the few in this race that will want this ground. Trainer is in form and Spencer booked. Form in May reads 1223. 21.0 on Betfair represents value must be 5/1 for a place Quote

Horwich Posted May 12, 2004 Author Posted May 12, 2004 i got this email but didnt do out with it 1.30 - York: River Falcon - Has done most of his racing over six furlongs but both efforts this season have been over the minimum in big fields and they have yielded solid, if unspectacular, form. He handles easy ground and being unexposed over this distance could yet find improvement at it. Stable beginning to hit form and partnered by an excellent three pound claimer which offsets him running from two pounds out of the handicap. Mixture of speed (Sire) and stamina (Dam) and proven ability to stay further may hold him in good stead under these conditions in a race likely to be run at a fast pace. He has a decent draw and has run well on his two previous to this track. Watching - Runs his best races with plenty of cut in the ground and normally seen at 6/7 furlongs. However has form at 5 furlongs from much higher handicap marks to be of interest and all his career wins have come at the minimum trip. His stable are beginning to find winners and their horses are filling the frame on a frequent basis. Watching hasn't won for almost four years and has to bounce back from a disappointing effort last time out but today's ground is likely to see him in a better light. he is versatile as to the way a race is run and has plenty of big field experience.
