After reading recent threads, the clubs debts have been mentioned a hell of a lot.

 

In 1997 when we moved to the sh??tbok, we were 30million in debt. Since then we have spent 6 seasons I think in the premiership and been relegated twice. So can someone just explain to me why we are still 30million in debt after we have received all that money for appearing in the premiership, received a huge sum for finishing 6th, received parachute payments after being relegated and probably received close to the 20million pound mark after selling Stubbs, McAteer, Thomson, Gudjohson, Fish, Blake, Gunnlargsen, Frandsen and others too?

 

Also, one of the richest families in Britain is suppose to own us being the Warburtons and we also have a major shareholder in Eddie Davis who has an estimated fortune of 96tmillion, so why still the big debt.

 

Surely we must be on the straight and narrow now.

The Warbies don't own us them days are gone. Brett (son of George Warburton our former chairman)is on the board of directors (I think he is vice-chairman now) but has a very small financial interest in BWFC compared to Davies who is the 'Big Cheese'

Warburtons have no financial involvement in the club.

 

Eddie Davies, who owns the majority stake in the Whites, was awarded the OBE for services to industry in 2000.

 

The lifelong Wanderers fan was appointed as a non-executive director of the club in 1999, when his total financial commitment to the club in loan??s and shares totalled ??14 million. This included ??2.25 million to cover a share issue which allowed him to acquire a 94.52 per cent stake in Bolton Wanderers in December, 2003.

 

Brett Warburton is the managing director of Warburtons, the long established wholesale baker based in Bolton.

 

He became a Wanderers director in January 1989 and joined the board of Burnden Leisure plc in April 1997.

 

Mr Davies was unavailable for comment on Thursday. But Warburtons did make a statement.

 

A spokesman said: "Warburtons Ltd has no financial involvement with Bolton Wanderers Football Club.

 

"However, the Warburton family are huge fans and two members of the family are non-executive directors."

i wouldent be to worried we are spending alot of money on the academy training ground and othere things that are turning the club into a top 6 club on and off the pitch. we own almost twice as much in assets than are debts now so theres no reason to be worried. sam and phill have got the plans spot on when they leave we should be in a much stronger possistion than when they started

I blame Gordon Hargreaves for this bloody mess. If he wasn't chairman all those years ago and never owned that marsh land in horwich and had a finger in the pie of a building company and steel works we would have a nice renovated stadium at Burnden.

If we got grants, how come the huge debt after the f??cking sh??thole was built then?

lofthouse suite was furnished which wasnt originally budgeted for think it cost 6 million and the de veres hotel cost 12million was built add that onto the original cost.

They should have built the stadium in f*cking town.

I stood outside the reebok piss wet through with a 'sack the board' banner when todd quit etc.. Des McBain came out and told everyone 'Wanderers did not invest any money in the building of the Hotel'

 

Which turned out to be a blatent lie. Granted, things have improved since Hargreaves (and his building company) pissed off but we should be in a better financial possition by now.

ahhh, the self financing stadium, paid for by the middlebrook development.
