April 21, 200620 yr Bolton Wanderers have joined the clutch of clubs showing an interest in Charleroi's Mahamadou Kere, according to the player's agent. Daniel Striani has told skysports.com that Bolton have followed Manchester City and Italian outfit Catania in scouting the Burkina Faso international. The powerful stopper has been catching the eye recently with his performances in the Jupiler League. "Many clubs are watching Kere," Striani revealed to skysports.com. "Chief scouts and sporting directors from Manchester City, Bolton and Catania have been to Belgium many times to watch him in action. "The player's priority is to play in England but, of course, he will take into consideration all the offers and then we will decide what to do. "He wants to play football at a high level. He has big ambitions." Although under contract with Charleroi until 2007, the defender may be allowed to leave this summer and he has a European passport. Olympiakos have reportedly been offered the chance to bid for Kere, who captains his country, but have yet to respond. Kere had a trial with West Brom at the end of last year and impressed Baggies boss Bryan Robson who described him as "quick and strong". Sorry but who is this guy? Never heard of him.
