Lampard is performing season-after-season with world class players around him - who wants goals themselves, and is still getting more goals and assists than Gerrard. Stevie G has duffers like Crouch, who won't shoot themselves, laying the ball to him hoping that he scores. Gerrards average team mates make him look better than he is. He's good, but Lampard Jr is better. PB

Playing with worse players around you makes it alot harder to play well. Lampard has the better team around him, he has possibly the best defensive midfielder behind him and an almost unbreakable defense behind that. He has complete freedom of going forward with no worries about leaving his defense in trouble, that is why he gets so many goals a season because he can almost play as a striker. However Stevie G does not have that World class standard behind him and so does not have as much freedom, but he is still relied on to produce the goals as liverpools front men do not score so many. Gerrard is the better player. p.s Lampard is still one of the best players in the premiership, just not as good as Gerrard.
May 16, 200620 yr B*llocks. Gerrard actually looks better because the standard of players in the Liverpool team are nowhere near as good as Chelsea's bunch. Liverpool are a decent side, but without him they'd be nowhere near as effective. They rely on him for almost everything. Lampard is at the club where they can buy who they want, when they want and he just gets on with the job. He puts in more consistent performances than any other midfielder in the country, scores more goals & along with John Terry, is the heartbeat of that Chelsea side. If I was to choose one of them, Lampard would get my vote. PB
