that trouble last night...

Featured Replies

it looked to me like the krauts surrounded the english at a corner bar, then threw allsorts at the english.

but once again it is the english getting the flack.

At 11am, I am going to one end of the garden, knowing the wife and kids will be at the other.

I am going to wind them up to see if they start throwing garden furniture at me upon which the next door neighbour will become annoyed and lock them in their kitchen for the afternoon so I can f??ck off to the pub and watch the match in peace.

How I understood it from the watching the news is that the German fans had to walk past the corner bar where the English fans were drinking because it was on the main street coming out of the ground.

The German fans were the first to start throwing chairs.

They interviewed a German fan who said that the English were singing a song about German bombb bers in world war two, and it got them annoyed 8-[

it always makes me laugh when it kicks off and people throw plastic chairs. #-o

300 english arrested and hardly any germans,i saw a german throw a bottle at the english in front of the police and the police just pushed him back into the crowd.

yes, well... at the end of the day we beat them 5 - 1, and its 2 nil in world wars, so they can just fcuk right off cant they, the little red gingers. =;

oh do f??ck off you knob

it is exactly you, the type of fan who is out there now.

chanting sh??t like that then when the Germans go for it you pick up a chair, throw it, then run.

then you cry "wheres our lads", the ones you all want banned in the years building up to the tournament

OK, lets start again, the post wasnt intended to offend. but clearly it has, so lets just forget about it. :D

Twas mildly amusing seeing all these 'hardcore hooilgans' stood 10 feet apart, jumpin up and down, throwing the odd plastic chair, making wild threats, but actually doing f??ck all, much to the dissapointment of the media who so nearly had the story they have looked for.

just tell me, what is the f??ckin point.

either have a drink, watch the world go by, bit of a sing song and take it all in, or wade in and pussy someone, dont just bounce up and down with a plastic chair looking like a c??nt.

the proper lads would be holed up in a side street bar out of the the media eye

no, they were hardcore hooligans, it says so in the paper this morning.

i know some will find it all part of the pre/post match fun but i'm getting bored, and embarrassed with all the dambuster/RAF/2 world wars stuff that is thrown around. from what i've seen the germans have been great hosts, and the law have not gone in hitting english heads just for the hell of it.

The folk of Nuremburg are utter Nazi c??nts. The rest seemed ok.

I half agree with you, the other half says its mildly amusing reminding them of their inadequacies.

Was in Nuremburg for two and a half days, never been treated so well in a foreign country. Was running for a bus, the driver sees us, stops then is more than happy to help ensure we get to where we want to and strike up a conversation in english about the game. When people like that go out of their way to be nice then you turn a corner and hear the bomber song it makes you cringe!

Most are wannabe shirters in their 20's who feel they have missed out. They need to realise things have changed and will never be the same again, the 70's 80's and early 90's have gone, just like the swinging sixties and free love it was fun but its past. Time to move on.

should the proper lads not have made some calls to the germans/poles and be kicking shit out of each other in some muddy clearing in the black forest?

and be kicking shit out of each other in some muddy clearing in the black forest?

Muddy Clearing - I've got all his albums

Funny how we all get different conclusions. Mine so far:-

Frankfurt - Germans brilliant. Great hosts.

Nuremberg - Ditto

Heidelberg - Brilliant. Great people.

Cologne- OK but not as welcoming as the first three. A few anti English.

Stuttgart - The worst by a mile. Many Germans don't want us here and that was apparent 3 days before the game when we arrived. Strangely, the Turks here have been unbelievably good. It seems they do the opposite to the Germans in all cases. One bloke who owns a bar has been buying every other round!

All the other comments about the 'trouble' have been spot on. Bits o kids who can't take their ale. Handbags. The real boys wouldn't be within a mile of this so called trouble. Got to say though, the Brit media over here seem to be almost willing it to happen. I didn't use the word incite but it is getting very fooking close.

Are you still on tour Bolty? If will you be staying in Gelsenkirchen or Dusseldorf? I fly into Dusseldorf midday Friday with missus and 10 year old daughter, gonna nip down to the Altestade for some beer and the Germany /Argie game. Wall to wall German bars and micro breweries!

Getting the train to Gelsenkirchen late morning on the Saturday. I'll try you on that number again, see if we can meet up for that beer.

Aye mate. Still here. Leaving Stuttgart today for a lads 'midweeker' in Hamburg for 3 nights. Into Essen on Friday for 3 days for the game. Off to see me mam in Puerto Banus for 4 days after that then flying into Munich for the semifinal showdown with Brazil. Berlin next stop. Bring on the Germans. Give us a call in Gelsenkirchen and we'll catch up if possible. May even get over to Bolton to catch up with family and a bunch of WWays posters between the semi and the final.
