What do you think it is??

Featured Replies

Even with last season's lure of european football we couldn't attract new players...

This year is the same....if not worst....

is it the constant media barracking we have to put up with?

Sams constant whinging?

Shite style of play?

Shite crowds?

Shite atmoshphere?

Lack of ambition by the board?

Shite beer?

long queues?

bad location?

the closure of the ye olde pasty shop on Saturday mornings?

Money we offer, location. In that order

That's it

The quality of players we are chasing these days are the ones that bigger clubs are also attracted to. We are a small club currently punching above our weight they probably wonder how long it will last, we can't offer Champs League footie with the likes of Celtic, Rangers etc and we can't splash big bucks like Spurs / Pompey (currently) can.

correct

in the past, the players we've needed to make our sqaud better we're easier to get hold of

5 years ago we were able to attract a 33 yr old Djorkaeff to the club

these days with the club having to move forward and being much stronger than it once was, we're after the better quality which generally means 5/10 years younger, and the competition is stiffer

another season in Europe would help, as would more money

if we had more money we could make bid for players who may not otherwise have been available - as it is, we have to wait for the top quality to become available, and when they do, we're obviously going to face competition

people say it's a lack of ambition that's holding us back, i disagree, if we lacked ambition we'd be able to still bring in enough faces to make up a squad (such as going in for Hasselbaink for example), as it is, our ambition is meaning sam wants to raise his sights (Saviola) and as such, we're more likely to miss out on players, because the options open to these players mean we're often the least attractive

until we get more transfer funds and european football under our belts on a regular basis, this will continue to be the case, but we won't get that without better players - catch 22 really

Spot on Zico, Sam and the Club are a victim of their own success.

i think people underestimate how much current players attract new players.

biggest example of that is okocha, what ever fans think of him, he is a huge name in the world of football.

with him gone, other players dont see any big names at the club which makes them reconsider maybe...

i feel once we get lucky with that one big signing again, others will follow...

Even with last season's lure of european football we couldn't attract new players... WE DID NOT RELEASE SUFFICIENT FUNDS WHEN WERE IN A STRONG POSITION LAST YEAR, MAJOR MISTAKE.

is it the constant media barracking we have to put up with? MEDIA DO SHOW US IN A BAD LIGHT AND IT IS DEFINITELY DAMAGING.

Sams constant whinging? DONT THINK THIS HAS ANY BEARING.

Shite style of play? I THINK THIS IS A SERIOUS FACTOR PLAYERS IN GENERAL LIKE TO PLAY FOOTBALL TO FEET AND ENJOY PLAYING.

Shite crowds? IF YOU HAVE 2 SIMILAR FINANCIAL OFFERS AND 2 SIMILAR QUALITY OF TEAMS I THINK 9 OUT OF 10 WILL PICK THE TEAM WITH BIGGEST CROWD BASE.

Shite atmoshphere? ALL STADIUMS ARE SHITE ATMOSPHERE, SO I DONT THINK IT MATTERS.

Lack of ambition by the board? OUR BOARD IS PROBABLY MORE AMBITIOUS THAN ANY BOLTON BOARD SINCE THE 30S.

shite beer? ALL LAGER IS SHIT, WHAT WE NEED IS SOME DECENT CASK BITTERS.

long queues?THERE WONT BE ANY NEXT YEAR JUDGING ON SEASON TICKET SALES

bad location? FROM A PLAYERS POINT OF VIEW BURNDENS LOCATION WAS AS BAD AS IT COULD GET, FROM A FANS VIEW IT WAS EXCELLENT COMPARED TO TO THE REEBOK.

the closure of the ye olde pasty shop on Saturday mornings?

REGARDING YE OLD PASTY SHOP THIS IS THE SINGLE BIGGEST FACTOR IN NOT BEING ABLE TO SIGN TOP PLAYERS BOLTON SHOULD FORCE IT TO RE-OPEN AND FEED THE PLAYERS PASTIE AND PEAS ONE HOUR BEFORE KICK OFF. :D

Excellent point, say what you like about Okocha, but our stock has dropped on the reputation front after his departure.

bobbers, never mind all this shite

back or lay :-k
