Rooney's Red

Featured Replies

Just curious what other people made of Rooney's 'challenge'. I know that there will be occasions when elbows accidently end up striking opponents but it's not like Rooney was unaware of a defender coming in on his blind side or something similar. The opposing player was directly in front of him so Rooney pretty much knew what was going to happen when he jumped at him. Personally I think a yellow probably would have sufficed but I'm not buying all of the United moaners who say that it wasn't even a foul. As ever he didn't help himself by ignoring the striken player and going off on one of his normal rants.

It was a bad foul and probably a red, but I dont think they should give league bans for cards in friendlies.

It would P**s me off if 2 of our players got 3 match bans because of cards picked up pre-season.

If we lost another 2 players half the under 13s would be playing against tottenham. :D

If we lost 2 more players i could see Jiminiho dusting off his boots for a run out!!

I'm surprised that the gary nevilles from Trafford haven't been moaning more than they have about this. I think its harsh, players shouldn't be sent off in friendlies unless they do something really over the top. Neither player should be banned for a ref not being able to referee properly. It wasn't too long ago that the refs would tell the manager to sub players who were derserving of a red card. Plus the FA aren't obliged to ban the players but have decided in this case that they should. Imagine if this had happened to Chelsea, that cocky prick Jose would not stop banging on about it.

Its bizarre but i'm not as full of hate towards the Munich slags as i was.....

It was never a red card - the arm was straight and there was no back-swing as such.

I remember Phyllis getting sent off for an elbow at Bradford one year (4-4 draw maybe or my memory is going?) and then we all wondered what was going on...it's a tough law as most players use their arms for leverage. I think you can tell when there's intent or a deliberate elbow and there's no chance that Rooney's was. At worst it was clumsy.

's funny though as it's them lot ::::::::lol::::::::

I thought it was seriously harsh and agreed the ref couldn't wait to send Rooney off. Having said that I was in a bar in Alcudia with a load of Mancs so nearly fell off my chair laughing when he went off :)

It's funny how all the sulking munichs are now supporting FC United, they're using Glazer as an excuse - really it's coz Chelsea are now richer than them & they no longer dominate English football. They're like a bunch of spoilt f*cking kids.

Pathetic :D

It should have just been a free kick and nothing more , if we are going to send people off for that we will be seeing alot of 5-aside theis season :D

Don't care about a manure player at all

It was never a sending off offence & the F.A should've deemed it so. The f??ckers at the F.A are F??ckin tvvats for giving Rooney a 3 match ban, it wasn't even a booking offence never mind a red card!

Now Scholesy's was a red though! & he deserved his.
