Fao The Stay Aways!

After having read some of the rubbish that's been posted on here over the last 3 or 4 months i look forward to the drivel all the non attendees will come out with tomorrow following todays result!!

i.e. i didn't buy a season ticket because, i didn't go because...etc, etc..

For me that was one of our best displays since we've returned to the premiership, strong professional and above all ENTERTAINING, yes ENTERTAINING!

You don't want to watch the whites anymore that's fine, but if that's the case FOOK off and leave those that do to it and log on to basketweaving.com and stop coming on here moaning!

Bottom line is if you don't know what the town of BOLTON has now for a footabll club now you never will!!!!

You moan when fat Phil wont pay ??40k per week in wages to sign a player and yet you want to get in for FOOK all and pay next to nothing for your season tickets. It could be free and you'll come out with an excuse for not attending etc, etc.

I came away from that ground proud today, only thing that I'm not proud of is the way the town overall and the stay away supporters back the team.

Before anyone starts I'm not some JCL, been going for nearly 30 years, loved the old days and even agro that went with it, however things have changed and you've got to live with that.

Yes I was there to see us get relegated against Aldershot and when we had the lowest attendance in our history against Darlington, also did 3 out of 4 away trips in europe last year.

Bottom line is it's up to the town to decide, do WE want a premiership football club or not??

Yes I'd love lots of things from the old days back but that's never goin to happen.

What I can't get my head round is that probably 15 out of 20 premier league teams supporters would be happy with what we've got except for some BWFC fans, one question......What do you want???!!!

You lot are never happy are you?

So what if some people watch games in the pub, thats up to them

So what if some people actually go to the game, thats up to them

So what if match day experiences aint the same anymore? Its not a major disaster

Bolton are still are and always will be my team no matter what!!

Football is changing, it is something we all have to get used to, we are not in the 80's anymore time moves on!

I too would prefer to stand (even though I am 4 foot fook all) and probably struggle seeing, as the atmosphere was better at Burnden but we cant.

Saturday was a great game and an even better result against a side who are tipped to finish top 4, They spent how much on new players and we spent bugger all

For me I still enjoy going to the football and have done for 15 years and will continue to do so until I die!

Now you lot shut up moaning and just get behind Bolton YOUR TEAM whether its from the pub or the ground, it really doesnt matter

Come on you White men!

With a little one on the way I want to be able to take her to the match in a few years without any grief. I know there are a wide spectrum of fans to cater for from the families to groups of young lads and they all want a different matchday experience.

Couple of seasons ago I was sat in front of three lads who must have watched out 20 mins of the match in total and were constantly going to the bar and staying there. Personally, I don't see the point of that, and are they they 'real' fans because for the brief time they were actually watching the match they sang the loudest?

They can do what they like, they paid their f*cking money after all.

I knew you sounded familar, you don't happen to sport a classy Johnny Fow Number Two All Over, a red Georgio Farnwortheo jacket and a pair of scuffed Pods do you?

I said I personally don't see the point, not that they shouldn't do it...

I'm originally from Johnny Fow - yes. But my family moved to upper-class Halliwell when I was 1yr old.

Are you that 4-eyed herbert who rolls his eyes when people swear then? Whilst sucking on a werthers in the West Upper, naturally.

Zoe, fair play to most of what you've said, but it's a little naive - particularly the "So what if match day experiences aint the same anymore? Its not a major disaster" line - I'd say it could be. Let me explain:

Most people I've spoken to who don't go anymore do it for a number of reasons, but this is the one that comes up most often.

If that then leads to there being 5k shaved off crowds for example, it will surely prompt Allardyce to comment about it again - he feelings (rightly or wrongly) on the matter are clear and have been documented.

If this then leads Sam to believe he's fighting a losing battle here with public that don't care / won't back the team then he's much more likely to leave.

This could be a disaster for the club.

Pretty close, but I say I come from Smithills, rather than Halliwell, naturally.

It is not the stay away fans that bug me, as everybody has their reasons.

What is really bugging me is the half empty ground that awaits the players at the end of the game! It is a ragging disgrace that so many leave the ground with upto 15 minutes to go just to get home a few minutes early.

I challenge these gary nevilles to stay to the end of a game one week and actually enjoy watching a full 90 minutes.

SO THIS MATCHDAY EXPERIENCE PEOPLE ARE HOPING TO GET BACK ! JUST THINKING - WHEN WE DRAW SAY ROTHERHAM OR DONCASTER AWAY IN THE CUP THEN WE SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM SELLING ALL OUR ALLOCATION AND MORE AS WE WILL BE STOOD UP ,HAVING A FEW BEERS AND WALKING IN P1SS - AND HOPEFULLY IT SHOULD BE P1SSING DOWN JUST TO ADD TO IT .

P.S ROTHERHAM AWAY IN THE DAYS OF THE CAGE WAS A CRACKIN ATMOSPHERE .

P.P.S I,M THINKIN CARLING CUP AWAY GAMES ARE THE FUTURE . BOBHAT - I,LL GET YER TICKET .

who says you can't get pissed?

my problem is with those who have a drink and naturally move on to violence

as for music and flags, most of the group wanted rid, even the club wanted rid, but mounts argued for their retention

re attracting new customers, the evidence is there for all to see...as you said, women and kids everywhere

it seems to be more the 'i was at hull' brigade who're giving up

did i casino dont remember that, could not care less about flags, i just want to hear the classic" my world days of football" belted out before the game, i think it would bring a tear to my eye. ::::::::lol::::::::

Is it just me, or is the whole 'Stay away fans' issue, getting a bit boring? Genuine followers of BWFC would have genuine reasons for not attending. No fan based internet message forum recruitment drive will change that.

Getting boring? When it's the same subject on here time and again, Yes.

But I'd actively encourage any dialogue with the club over it as otherwise it'll never change. Can't stick your head in the sand forever.

Unless you couldn't give a sh??te, which is fair enough, but more than enough folk seem to have views on it...

:drinks: :good: yep, the only thing that is certain is change itself. however even in boltons attendance hay days of the 50's there were often crowds of less than 10,000.

This is getting all quite childish now

Fair point Jules understand what you are saying

Think what I was trying to say was that no matter what Bolton will always will be our club and no matter what happens we should all carry on supporting them in our own ways, whether it be in the pub at home or at the game

But I agree, the match day experience is not the same as it was even 10 years ago, we should get rid of the dancing girls and all the other shite that goes with it but thats just modern day football and I think alot of club have entertainment like that now, maybe not so young mind you but still its the way things are going!!
