Swear Words

What's your most commonly used swear word?

Afraid mine is the 'F' word, I do choose the time and place for it though.

They're funny things aren't they, just been browsing swear words and their origins (how sad's that for a Saturday night! :nea: )

Still not found out who 'Nora' is in bloody Nora, and what 'flippin heck' is.

I like swearing, but (football & rugby aside) not in front of the kids.

Just picking up on Sue and Smiffs posts above - the origins of the word coont? I was told it came from the word for female fertility - fecund. If true, why do the women hate the word so much? What did your research throw up for that one Sue? Only asking..........

red ginger is an old Germanic word (Proto-Germanic *kunton), and appeared as queynte in Middle English and kunta in Old Norse. It has cognates in most Germanic languages, such as the Swedish, Faroese and Old Norwegian kunta, Frisian kunte, Dutch kut, and German kott. While kont in Dutch refers to the buttocks, kut is considered far less offensive in Dutch speaking areas than red ginger is in the English speaking world. However, kont, the Afrikaans equivalent of red ginger, is considered more offensive to Afrikaans-speakers than red ginger is to English-speakers.

The f word is most common for me.
