December 3, 200619 yr we queued for an hour to get a bus back to town Got the last bus from the station to the ground and arrived just in time for kick off, left the ground at the final whistle and got straight on a bus and was in the pub in the town centre ten mins later.

You jammy b??stard, we left at full time, took an hour to get down the boozeer, absolute dire would have been quicker to treck
December 3, 200619 yr try going with thetravel club F??ck off Travel club?? Some of us like a drink ....... other than coffee out of a flask. I suppose you took your sandwiches too?
December 3, 200619 yr You jammy b??stard, we left at full time, took an hour to get down the boozeer, absolute dire would have been quicker to treck Don't think it helped that the buses out to the stadium went directly down the new road, whereas coming back they took 3-4 times as long going down the old road. Don't know why they did that - think we must've been lucky getting on a bus coming back.

December 3, 200619 yr Local knowledge eh :p Local knowledge knowing where we were going - pure luck being on one of the first 14 buses. Also lucky discovering the buses didn't go from the same place they drop you off. Shambles. It shouldn't have taken that long for the buses to turn round, they need to take lessons from Southampton who know how to run a bus service. Take it you got back from the pub OK after I left you?

December 3, 200619 yr You forgot to mention that you had H with you giving directions. Dear God - I'm surprised they're not still going
December 4, 200619 yr Yep - got a flaming parking ticket. Only good thing was that on the M4 within 1 minute and back in Stockport for 8-30. Garbage day all round.
December 4, 200619 yr I parked on Costco's carpark round the corner for free, went inside and had a cheeky hotdog for ??1.50. After the match straight off the car park and on to motorway. Result. Unlike the actual match.
December 4, 200619 yr Just tried to pay the bloody thing and the automated system is unable to take payment at this time. Please phone back later.............................
December 4, 200619 yr The park and Ride was OK. We got to the ground and noticed cars dumped on grass verges everywhere - OK if you have 4X4. Turned into a pub car park but they wanted a tenner!. Followed signs for the park and ride (about 2 miles) and paid ??3 return. (Tip no one checked tickets on the return - buy a single in future). Straight out of the ground on the final whistle and we were back at the car and on the motorway at 5.15. St Peters Way at 8.30. NB if we'd known it was ??3 return on the bus for all 5 of us we would have paid the tenner!
