Meite

What do people think of him? Been here nearly half a season now and people don't seem to have said a good thing or a bad thing about him? Sort of plodded along.

I think he's adjusting more each week and could be a quality defender for us providing he has the right partner. Positional play still a bit questionable

He is a good defender but like you say positionally sometimes he looks out of place. Needs a solid partner like Bruno. I think he will look better if we can get ben haim back in the middle with gardener out on the left and hunt on the right (yes i know he can't pass but he hasn't been too bad recently).

Once again BSA timing to jettison a fans favourite has been shown to be spot on. I can't remember the last time I saw Bruno's name in the Birmingham team.

Regarding Meite I think the jury is still out. He looks solid enough but every so often he panics and gifts the ball to the opposition in dangerous positions.

he goes unnoticed, so that can only be a good thing (no mistakes unlike Mr Jaidi)

I like the fella... no complaints for me.. seems fairly consistant doesn't shirk out.. can think of a lot lot worse in the prem than him

:good:

I like the look of him. Does all the main things that a defender needs, i.e. good in a tackle, good at heading, strong, looks very quick to me. The only thing I would say is that his distribution isn't too good, but I'm not too fussed about that becasue that isn't a main priority.

Like someone said before if he can play week in week out along side Ben Haim then I think he could become a top class defender.

Pretty much my opinion. If you are not noticed as a centre back, you can't be doing too bad.

Agree with most of that, although I'm not sure about the distribution. Diouf's first goal at Newcastle and Nolan's goal against Walsall, came from moves he'd started.

He's had a pretty steady start, seems solid, he's not slow and can tackle.

Negative points for me are communication and positioning. I'd like to think that's something to do with him being new to the Premiership though.

Pre-season his positioning was standing 5 yards behind everyone else, which is why Seville utterly dicked us at Huelva. He is improving in this area.

He's doing a decent job in difficult times at the back.

He has played every minute of the season so far I think, whilst surrounded by constant chopping and changing due to injuries.

Hes improving with nearly every game. 8)

I dont think hes a good defender to be honest, but he has so much pace it gets him out of trouble .

A fast shit defender is always better than a slow shit one!
