Girls, Girls Girls....

20 games...

18pts...

3 wins...

He inherited a team that had a Alladyce losing streak running straight through it...

We were garbage the whole of 2007....

I'll admit I am the most pessimistic on here....(well after TSO the angler)...

But listening to the last 20 mins last night we seemed to be playing well...

Portsmouth will be tough....

I had us down for only 2 pts from our first three games anyway...

We dont want to peak to early do we?

I just hope the fickle Bowtoners don't get on LSL back already.

I'm hoping we don't lose any more players, and that Sammy gets his wish to play attacking football with wingers. if that means dropping Nolan/Speed or anyone else like that - then so be it.

Way too early to judge him yet, we were garbage for those 2 games at the end of last season...........but you could argue that is was Little Sammys team who drew away at Chelsea anyway.

give Lee a chance, how we did not win last night I do not know, was anyone calling for allardyce's head when he lost six on the bounce? Lee has definitely changed our attacking style for the better, we just need to sort out the glitches in defence.

it prob began after the 3rd game

Lee is quiet in the media rather than brash and arrogant.

Lee wants to play football rather than percentages.

Lee goes behind and chases games rather than taking a lead and sitting on it.

Presumably we'll be in Champions League form from January to May rather than August to December.

Nothing to worry about.

I'd be more worried about Diouf and Anelka getting on his back.

Takes a big man (no pun intended) to control such egos.

To be fair Mounts, Sam had earned the right for a bit of patience.

And he hadn't decided to come in and rip up a formula that had given us unprecedented success.

I just think 'who the f?ck does LSL think he is?' - it's almost shockingly arrogant to do what he's doing.

But hey - we were on a bad run and maybe we'd been sussed out. Maybe Lee is right. Time will tell, but I can only be honest - I'm worried.

:good: Spot on

LSL may have been a good player, coach etc but can't hack it as a manager? Brian Kidd was a good assistant at Munichs, but didn't last loong as a manager.

The problem is you don't find out until a few months after they have become a manager. Then its too late.

Thinking about it how many clubs that are in the top six of the PL would appoint a "rookie" manager?

Hope he makes it but our track record with ex Liverpool players being managers aint too good.

if you book them they will come?

i hope faith will be rewarded, not naivity exploited

aye but this is the difference between a coach and a manager

he will have coaches working for him, getting his ideas across to the players and keane will manage them

lee can coach the players but can he manage them

that's what I think people are concerned about

alladyce wasn't a coach, he left that down to lee, but he could certainly manage them

I think Lee recognises he's not a natural in terms of dealing with people. Didn't he say "I'm no good on the phone" or summat? Which is why he's appointed this McParland chap.

In effect he's still a coach working under the term "manager". Inevitably though he'll have to start managing when he's the guy in charge.

Like you say it's another question which he needs to answer.

Cant help but feel that the success bit was coming to an end anyway, crowds dropping alarmingly etc.

We've just got to move on. I'm worried to after our failure to get any points from the first two games but the signs are there that we can play more entertaining football than we've been used to of late, and i believe that when the players get used to both a new system and each other then we can climb the table, but maybe not as high initially as we've become used to.
