Radcliffe Game

Congrats on your win today, new it wouldn't be long until you got your first win. Now the small business of the Reading game is out of the way, it is now time for the REAL big game of the season :yahoo:

I hope as many Wanderers can come on Monday. The full team will be there, Anelka, Diouf, Nolan ect. All playing in the game and signing autographs afterwards. The game will be like a training game probably, as both teams won't want to get any players injured but it is a good excuses to watch your team at close contact with a nice beer in what hopefully will be a hot sunny day.

?6 for everyone - Adults, Concessions. Children U14 Free. Where else can you see your first team for ?6?

Like i have said i hope as many of you can come as possible as it really does help us out for the season. The ground holds 3000 and if it was packed we would make a lot of money that would be massive to us, realisticaly, im expecting around the 1000.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS!! IT'S ON SIX QUID

See you Monday!!

What time is kick off?

http://www.radcliffeborough.com/

1.00 pm

The club are pleased to announce after further talks with the Bolton Wanderers they have now organised a date for this prestigious friendly which was to take place back in July. The game will now take place on Monday 27th August with a 1.00pm kick off and will see the Premiership stars of this season’s campaign on show for all the local supporters who may not get an opportunity to see them in action.

Club Secretary Dave Murgatroyd said, “After speaking with their club secretary Simon Marland – who has been excellent to deal with – we have managed to find this date that suits them in their busy premiership schedule. Simon spoke to Sammy (Lee) and confirmed they will be honouring their agreement and bringing down the first team squad to the Inn2Gether Stadium for what will be a fabulous occasion.”

The club were keen to praise their Premiership neighbours, “They have always known it is a fund raising match to raise funds for this season and It says a lot about the club and the people involved along with its community relationship and spirit that they have honoured their promise made in the close season. Lets be fair to have quality international players on show at Radcliffe Borough will be such an occasion and a real treat for all our supporters and of course the fans of Bolton in the Radcliffe and surrounding areas not to mention the players, it is something that you don’t see often today from a premiership club and a lot of credit has to go to Sammy Lee for agreeing for this game to take place” said Murgatroyd.

The club will also be making it a community fun day and secretary Dave Murgatroyd said, “It will be a community day with soccer courses taking place in the morning etc and I am sure the atmosphere will be great, also with it being a Bank Holiday Monday and an early kick off it will mean we can attract all the family to the game.”

Admission prices for the game are all the same being only ?6.00 for Adults, Concessions & Children although children under 14 are allowed entry Free with a paying adult or concession.

Thanks for making it a sticky lads.

Lets hope many of you can come =D>

?6 - 1pm kick off

Lets hope for a sunny day so we can all enjoy a pint watching Anelka and co.

The weather is looking good. Thinking of taking the kids along - ?6 in is pretty reasonable.

not in halliwell its got cold and dark

Taking my lot. Even my normally football hating daughter and wife are up for it.

Anyone know of a live feed on one of those websites, homer?

Currently 4-0

Good game today, and a good afternoon out - nice to have a pint not watered down at a game for a change.

Impressed by Harsanyi, Johann Smith, Leslie Thompson, Guthrie and Obadeyi - all looked promising. Some good play, good goals.

Disappointing turnout though in Radcliffe's eyes. They'd have got more than 450 on if the original date had been kept.

Who scored the bolton goals?? i seen gardner got the 1st after a missed penalty

Harsanyi got number 4. Third one was a cracker by our number 3. Not sure who he is...

Just got home, good display and win.

Johann Smith put a penalty wide at 0-0 then the goals came from Gardner, Harsanyi, Obadeyi and I don't know who scored the fourth, never seen him before

All well taken though!

Gardner first direct from corner...

Harsanyi 2 and 4 (I think he got the 4th, not sure)

3rd was Topa Odabeyi - he looked very promisin, strong, powerful and very quick

I'm sure that i was charged ?7 and not ?6.

The programme was ?1.50 for 28 pages. There is a long article on Radcliffe's new manager Peter Coyne who scored as a teenager on his debut for Man Utd at Leicester in 75/76 but was released soon after and had to move to America due to lack of interest in the lower divisions.

He ended up coming back to England and scored both Swindon's goals in their 2-1 win at Burnden on the opening day of 86/87.

I take it neither Diouf nor Anelka played.

That obviously means we've sold them!

About 20 minutes before kick-off they announced a Bolton Wanderers autograph session. The guy stood next to me got his programme signed by Sammy Lee, Mikel Alonso and Diouf himself.

Hopefully with Dioufy making the trip it shows his heart is where we want it to be.

Took the kids. Was a bit of a non-event. Left at 3-0.

Our 3rd goal by the young left back (no. 3) was very good.

Our number 11 was also very fast and tricky.

And the number 8 for us looked good - was it Guthrie?

I'm sure that i was charged ?7 and not ?6.

Kids paid ?1 to get in. And not FREE as previously stated.

Didn't see the likes of Diouf or Alonso - did they turn up, sign autographs and then leave?

I arrived late, about 5 mins after KO.

The kids trotted off to the club house to get some autographs and got Sammy Lee's and A.N. Other (they didn't know who it was and you sure can't read it!) and my lad shook hands with Dioufy.
