Im with scottish power fairly cheap

I'm with Scottish Power as well, and have found them OK. In order to find out who is best for you, with relation to your usage, you should use this site: Change Supplier?

You also get ?15 cash back from them if you switch using their site

Try the Uswitch website, their you can change your gas, leccy, water and all other sorts of things.

FWIW They're all the same these fuckers, my combined leccy and gas was just over ?120 a month until i screamed the ragging house down at their callcentre. They soon sorted that out for me.

My combined gas and electric is ?31 with British Gas.

I switched to Powergen in April on the basis that they would give me ?80 at the end of the year .They didn't mention that they would put the monthly direct debit up to ?90 to month.

I stayed with them one month and am now back on ?31 per month with British Gas.

British gas here too - gas & leccy is ?43 per month.

The ?15 gas is a bit much as well because i usually get a ?30 - ?40 refund at the the year end.

The main saving will be on heating.I don't feel the cold and probably average about 1 hour per day's radiators on between November and March and none the rest of the year.

Ring them and ask them to work out your average monthly usage using accurate readings from jan to jan or march to march to get the correct idea of what your actually using- you need to be paying this each month. Too often amounts are based on estimated readings. ideally you should be in credit throughout the summer to cover the extra you will use in winter. Most people dont realise this and ask for the montly payment to be reduced or claim the credit back- then you're in the sh*t after winter. Energy bills have gone up drastically over the least couple of years, with all suppliers.Once you have a correct amount per month you should then add on extra to pay anything oustanding. If you dont want to pay the higher bills then cut down. If you sit down and work out every single gas and elec appliance you have and honestly think how long its on for then you may be suprised at how much you waste.

When i worked for the leccy board i was amazed at how may people rang up screaming that they only had lights and a tele on. I would get them to go aroung their rooms and tell me everything they had bloomin loads in most cases. I would end up working our how much it cost per load of washing, per drying load, per hour immersion heater, extractor fans, oven, for the fridge, fish tank, lights etc etc etc. And it wasnt ever wrong.

We also have more and more leccy stuff- playstations, extra teles, computors, charging mobiles, etc etc,

Ask for energy efficency advice and read you meter every day for a week- then suss out how youve used it that day.

There was someone on here with a similar problem- after investigating his readings he found his under floor heating was faulty and using much more than he thought- problem solved.

Just left powergen for scottish power, they do an online plan that you have to read your own meters when they send you an email. practically halved my leccy and gas bill.

Powergen are useless, when i rang them up to give them a chance to price match they managed to offer me a plan that cost more than what i was on anyway. muppets!

Price protected with British Gas till 2010 ?31.00 per month for gas & leccy & I'm in credit to boot, been with them for 4 years now & can't fault em

all these prices are useless without the actual number of units you use.

last months usage with powergen:

electric: ?37 for 367kwh

gas: for ?19 for 428kwh

I'm currently going through about ?25 a month in both gas and leccy. Baz, either your house is seriously broken or you've got a weed farm in the attic.

Gas & Leccy combined wi Brittish Gas=?42.00 a month.

toodle pip

Im with Scottish Power, my monthly combined bill is a whopping ?127.

Before I moved I had a pre payment meter with Powergen, for some strange reason when I gave them my final meter reading I somehow owed them ?70, which they said was due to a price increase.
